ISLAMABAD, Jul 13 (APP): In view of the challenges affecting internal and external security environment of the region, Pakistan Army on Monday started a war game at National Defence University here, a news release of ISPR said. Pakistan Air Force, besides participating in the Army War Game, is also conducting a parallel war game.
War Game “AZAM-E-NAU” aims at analyzing the nature and magnitude of the threat(s) and to validate an effective response in accordance with the existing operational environment.
The opening session of the war game was attended by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nauman Bashir and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman.

Very good. In today’s hostile environment where half the success lies in readiness, and the other half in strategy, it is the the perfect time to sharpen the skill and maintain a readiness.

I wonder if PAF will use this opportunity to utilize the JF-17.

the fully operational JF-17 squadron will be completed till october 2009,however the IOC(initial operational capability) has been achieved.Still i dont think JF-17 will be used as squadron isnt ready yet however i wish it was being used.

Yes, you may be right. As of right now, there is a squadron of JF-17s based in Peshawar (which will be Thunder's primary base; atleast for now).

I hope to see a footage of the war games, if it's made available.
