Amad Butt earns Pakistan T20 call-up | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo
Amad Butt , the uncapped 21-year-old fast bowler, has been included in Pakistan’s 13-man squad for the one-off T20 against England, at Old Trafford, next week.
The match will be Sarfraz Ahmed ’s first as T20 captain after he was named in April as Shahid Afridi’s replacement following the World T20 in India.
Butt, who was part of the recent Pakistan A tour of England, has 12 wickets in six T20 matches. He played in the Pakistan team that knocked out England in the semi-final of the 2014 Under-19 World Cup in the UAE.
The top-order batsman Khalid Latif is also included alongside left-arm pace bowler Sohail Tanvir. Mohammad Irfran, who was a late addition to the one-day squad after Mohammad Hafeez was injured, is retained for the T20.
From the one-day squad current playing in England, Sami Aslam, Yasir Shah, Umar Gul, Hasan Ali and ODI captain Azhar Ali are not included.
Re: Pakistan announces T20 squad
just for 1 match, wonder if he will even get to play or will just warm the bench
I dunno why they keep selecting sohail tanveer and khalid latif, both mediocre players.
Seriously how many chances is Shoaib Malik going to be given?

Re: Pakistan announces T20 squad
Khalid Latif is an acceptable player at this stage. Yes a very poor average so far but last he scored 46 againt Aussies in Mohali. He wont be there for too long as eventually umar akmal and shehzad will come back. So no harm in trying right now. I guess these are his last days.
From cricinfo:
Although Khalid Latif made his first-class debut five days shy of his 15th birthday, he wasn’t really able to make an impression until after his Youth Test debut in 2003. Appointed captain of Pakistan Under-19s for the series against Sri Lanka, the right-hand opener scored 77 in the first match. He followed that up with perhaps his greatest achievement to date - captaining Pakistan U-19s to a World Cup win in 2004. The following season saw Latif score his maiden first-class century and he finished with almost 400 runs. Consistent performances with the bat followed and Latif, after scoring close to 600 runs in the 2007-08 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, was included in the Patron’s XI line-up to play the touring Zimbabweans. With Pakistan searching for opening options, Latif duly made his ODI debut, albeit an unimpressive one, against Zimbabwe in Faisalabad. He was dropped after the ICC World Twenty20 in 2010 but recalled a couple years later to the Twenty20 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. He was in good form in the domestic one-day tournament prior to that, topping the run charts for Karachi Dolphins.
I’ve no idea how big of a source Malik and kukree have to be included again and again.

Whats the point of Irfan in the squad when he has already returned home. Mukhtar should be part of the T20 squad. Him and Sharjeel at the open will provide the fireworks required in such format.

That’s an impressive resume. But how does he fare against tantalizing off spin on an airy wicket?
