Pakistan and UNSC permanent membership

It is so stupid when Pakistanis ignore their own chance of getting permanent membership in UNSC and concentrate too much on Bharat.

Let’s discuss what Pakistan has to do in order to get in the big boys club.

Sheep! Bunch of little ba ba sheep. Not a single person interested in Pakistan's membership in UNSC. Why?

When it comes to international posturing, we are just sheep following Arrabob sheep herders on this net.

Anti, jazbaat ki row main na beh jao...think about it rationally.
I was one of those stupid people who just refused to even take this hypothetical situation seriously in the other thread. THe reason being that you ought to see the realities on the ground, the writing on the wall, the problems we are surrounded with, the deep mess we find ourselves in and i can go on and on...

Its about the economy, its about political stability, its about the clout you have in the international arena. We need to mend our own house even before we can think about any such thing...

Pakistan is too insignificant to even think of belonging as a permanent member anytime in the next 15-20 years.

Quite simply, apart from a nuclear capability, we are a completely unremarkable state. We have political instability, a long record of economic instability, we are wracked with sectarianism, etc etc etc.

There are too many things wrong with Pakistan today to make permanent membership something we can even realistically think about.

UNSC permanent membership will take 10 to 15 years. That is enough time to get Pakistani act together. Let's start it now and be a strong contender by 2020.

And name it something cool as vision 2020.

Re: Pakistan and UNSC permanent membership

well I think the currrent permenent members should be increased and veto be removed.
countries with more population should be granted more than one votes.

I am all against any vetoes at present!

for Pakistan its not in position to get a permanent place in UNSC. may be one day just because it has huge population and nukes, the only plus points!

Re: Pakistan and UNSC permanent membership

May i add my two cents:

Firstly, to Antiobl= Is that Sarcasm??

Secondly to Mad_scientist! Dear Sir, you seem to underestimate the long term importance and geo-strategic benifits of Pakistan! Also dont forget, there is more to a seat at the UNSC then meets the eye, and finally Pakistan has achieved quite a lot, having heavy sanctions, it has been able to create a cottage industry for arms manufacture along with rubber products and sports goods. Unfortunetly, Pakistan has the curse of being host to ungreatful and creatively challanged souls, whome seem to be lost in a world of hypo fiction, playing catch-up or give up.! This attitude is what slows down the prosperity of Pakistan, if we examine the cases of China, Japan and others we can see how the imported technologies though technology transfers, creating opertunities for students to help the nation by learning abroad in fields such as engineering(China), IT(India), Electronics(Japan).

Most importantly, the people belived in their nations capability, at no time doubting the greatness of thier mother/father land… This love created a natural duty to serve, and aspire to achieve not for one’s self but for the sake of the nation. Something that is just happening in Pakistan, Musharaff and Mr Aziz have presented plans that once implemented will lead Pakistan into a stage of long term stability both political and economical, along with sustainable development and sociological development.

The major problem, is that Expats who have skills, talent and money see Pakistan as a Sinking ship rather then a gold mine waiting expolitation. I would like to use the cases of Jet-Li and Brue Lee, both Prominant actors and martial artists, emigrated to the us, but always made movies in CHINA, appart for the more modern series produced by Mr Li, along wiht Mr Chan, furthermore Mr Li and Mr Chan have set up foundations to assist in the development of educational establishments and creative projects in Xinjian province and Shengdong provence.

Furthermore, Mr Mital (Steel Giant) India, utilised the most openly avaiable industry in his nation, which had massive world demand, and required a mixture of skilled to unskilled labour and utilised marketing strategies to find international buyers and now has a considerable ammount of the international steel industry share.

Mr Hazuki CEO of GO GO electronics, saw the burst of Electronic Video Gaming systemsin the West and brought back some components and became one of the first manufactures of the TAMAGOTCHI (Virtual Pet)…

All these great men, utilised a vision with the ultimate goal of putting their nation on the MAP, one way or another… We in Pakistan, and those who claim to be Pakistani’s while seated comfortably in western nations openly mocking Pakistan, its economy and evey plan or developmental strategy the governement comes up with would kindly take note, that to help ones country is an act of sleflessness, aiming not wealth, fame or glory for one’s self rather the nation at whole; and i quote:

Anatole France: To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Pakistan Zindabad!
