there could be two possible reasons: first, Pakistan being the non permanent member of united nation's security council has its own importance;for US to pass any resolution , it needs Pakistan's help .Secondly, Pakistan being the Islamic state and having good relations with Sudan can utilise its influence on Sudan.i think thats probably the two major reasons why Pakistan is in forefront in all the negotiations .
and sruprisingly in this case, Pakistan is not following the US policy :) US is in favour of stern actions against Sudan while Pakistan is against all kinds of threat against Sudan.

Pakistan (thanks to the new world order) is a regional power and a major stabilizing force.
How can we all forget that Pakistan is a country with 145 million population, 700,000 strong and disciplined soldiers? This makes Pak as a potent force in the world.
Pakistan army has performed its duties to stabilize the country and the rest of the world for the last 100 years (Remember Afghan wars of 1880s?).
It is time now for Pak people to stand up and play a vital role in creating a stable world. They should be working closely with the international bodies for creating upto 4 divisions of Pakistani Marines. These divisions should have their own ships, aircrafts, tanks, and helicopters. This force should be available to be deployed in 24 hours notice to deal with human or natural disasters.
Think about it guys and gals! Iran had a major earthquake recently, and Paks couldn't do much to help alleviate the suffering.

Point well taken Mr. Faisal.
Modern day Pakistan army's history predates 1947 and goes back to Afghan wars of 1880s. Back then, Russians were beaten out of the region. The same Russians were again kicked out in 1980s. Russians are known for ignoring their history. It is possible that we may have another round in 2080.
That's the big picture of Pak army where it has played a key role in stabilizing different regions all over the world. Commie, lefties, and anarchists hate this fact and try to disparage Pak army on every occasion.
Just for the reference for the readers on this board, Pak army has played a significant role in stabilizing Middle East. Few examples follow:
- During the 70s, they controlled bloody, and savage militancy in Jordan
- During the 70s and 80s they helped stabilize Saudi Arabia. They are the ones who kicked savage terrorist out of Kaaba.
- They gave blood defending the whole region against Commie terrorists' onslaught.
- Stupid Baha-Rat-i commie lover politicians like Nehru, and Indira never failed to create problems for Pak-army and the result was fruitless wars between Pak and Baha-Rat.
It is only the last 10 years that a couple of generals turned out to be terrorist lovers and kept Pak army from playing its vital role in the region. That has made these Araab terrorists much bolder and they have dared to attack and kill unarmed Pakistanis.
Time to kick some terrorist a$$.

1) In Jordan/Palestine its known as Black April.
2) Its was the French who saved the Saudis in 1981 Juhimman incident in Kaaba. Pakistan's name was used to calm the muslims that no foreign troops entered Makkah.

Your Pali terrorists started a bloody and savage revolt in a sovereign country. I am sure they never planned for Pak-army's boot on their behinds.

Pakistan haters, commie, lefties, and Mullah-Tullah terrorists all hate Pak-army. This post is no exception.
One full brigade of Pak-army was always there to protect the sacred lands of Makka and Madeena. Mirja Aslam Begum destroyed all the good will in 1991 by being a wussy terrorist sympathizer.
