Did Pakistani intelligence fail them, or are they so corrupt they cannot be trusted. I think the intelligence failed them because I don’t think OBL would trust his life and whereabouts with a government be it even Pakistan.
Another opinion is that it is embarassing that Pakistan was unaware that a fugitive is living on their soil. Well it’s embarassing for the USA as well that even with all the technology and world surveillance they were not able to locate this man until after a decade of destruction.
And for everybody saying that the house was suspicious, and the neigbors were “unwitty”. Well how much do we really know our neighbors. Your living in a society in which houses with high walls are not unordinary. Security measures are not unusual provided that you reside in a country with rampant poverty, and rampant robberies. Tribal feuds can lead to higher security measures. I mean in Pakistan we were middle class yet still we had broken glass cemented into roof walls to discourage, and barricade robbers. If you look outside of the American perspective perhaps this won’t seem as unusual.
Thoughts on my opinions?
Another question I have is why do they keep calling his 3.5 star of a compound a mansion? I’m sure it may have taken money to construct but to call it luxurious thats ridiculous. It is not even a mansion by Pakistani standards so where is the hype stemming from. I think they are trying to present it that he was living comfortably and harbored because he lived in a “mansion”. Present it as if he was in plain sight and supported.
