Pakistan sending relief goods for BD cyclone victims Wednesday, November 21, 2007
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to immediately dispatch two C-130 aircrafts carrying relief goods for Bangladeshi cyclone victims.
The Foreign Office said in a statement on Tuesday that in addition to two-plane-loads of relief goods, a ship carrying relief items would sail shortly and another two C-130 aircrafts would leave for Dhaka carrying a 30-bed field hospital on November 23.
“The people and the Government of Pakistan are deeply grieved over the devastation caused by the recent cyclone in Bangladesh leaving millions homeless and thousands dead,” it said. It said National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Maj Gen (r) Farooq Ahmad Khan was in contact with the authorities concerned in Bangladesh to make arrangements for relief goods. staff report
