This is a big policy shift, and directly conflicts with Saudi stance on the matter. For the past few months Pakistan is going exactly opposite to Saudi vision/plans for the Middle East. So how do you guys view this statement?
Re: Pakistan against toppling of Bashar ul Asad - FO
Pakistan's foreign policy seems very confused at the moment, they are part of Saudi coalition but not support the country in Yemen or Syria. These two countries are the reason for their coalition in the first place.

Pakistan will stick to its old age pledge of defending Saudi Arabia in case of genuine territorial threat (in other words attack on Holy Sites), but it will not join any wars on behalf of Saudi Arabia. Saudi can confuse the former as 'coalition'.
I do believe that Pakistan had no idea that it was going to be part Saudi coalition. Sartaj Aziz is waiting to receive 'policy papers' (from Saudis) and review it.
