These books contain the complete answers of your childish questions, that how US created Taliban in 1980s, financed them, provided them weapons and money and why Pakistan and US were supporting them.

Purpose of this thread was to analyze that what Pakistan lost due to Taliban. Not do discuss Indian or US support of Taliban.The real purpose of the thread was to make realize the people of Pakistan, that Talibans are not Muslims, they are killers just like US and Indians in Kashmir. You better read these books, which contain the authentic material.Their are also written a lot of things against Pakistan in these books, but I have to admit them,why, because they are “true”. There is no question of the intension of Soviet and US. But didn’t Pakistan play along hoping to gain strategically on India? Without active help from Pakistan nothing would have happened. The point is obsession with India lead Pakistan into one blind alley after another. Even today, there is no humility in Pakistan’s approach. Listen to Mush talk in CNN.

BTW, Ahmed Rashid was a former armed fighter (i.e. terrorist). It’s easy make money writing about controversies and conspiracies.
