No. It was Pakistan’s idea. In fact America at that point of time had a hands-off approach to Afghanistan (read dropped like a HOT $%^$). Pakistan saw an opportunity to develop the strategic depth and feared the pro-Indian, relatively secular NA. The environment at that point was very conducive for a radical group to be setup. Pakistan should have reversed the course then and there by closing down the madarasas and moving the country back to right of the center. Instead, it thought it is easy to get a force like Taliban together, but never thought of the consequences.

Good and bad terrorist logic is not my making; those are words from Mushy – said repeatedly on TV. He tried to distinguish between Kashmir groups (both Pakistan supported real Kashmir groups and Pakistani Punjab fundamentalists) and Al Qaida. In fact, he was elusive about Taliban; I suppose he is afraid of calling them a good terrorist openly.

Yes riots happen in India every now and then and people of all religion including Hindus die in them. At least government in India get them under control sooner or later, unlike what’s happening in Karachi where Muslims of different sects and regions kill each other ruthlessly and it’s going on for a long time. There is no open violence against other minorities because there suppression (even killing) is legally supported by your constitution.
When you compare India and Pakistan the minorities in India live with lot more dignity than in Pakistan. Look around and see for yourself the large number of minorities (including Muslims) that have succeeded from lowest rung of the society. I hardly know of anything like that in Pakistan, where class system still rules.

I can only pity you as you are repeating the conspiracy theories that are fed into you by your establishment and collective psyche of Pakistan. Take a look at the recent attacks in the naval base. Taliban is openly claiming it’s their work, but you’re TV and new media is full of stories that it’s work of foreign agency. Pakistani conspiracy theories have reached to a point, world is beginning to consider them as serious impediment to Pakistan progress. (Today’s interview by Hillary Clinton). If I were government in Pakistan, would come out and categorically deny those conspiracies and tell the people “here is what we are dealing” and let us tackle. Instead they are happy with the lies. Pakistan’s problem is "Denial to the point of self destruction”.

Purpose of this thread was to analyze that what Pakistan lost due to Taliban. Not do discuss Indian or US support of Taliban.The real purpose of the thread was to make realize the people of Pakistan, that Talibans are not Muslims, they are killers just like US and Indians in Kashmir. You better read these books, which contain the authentic material.Their are also written a lot of things against Pakistan in these books, but I have to admit them,why, because they are “true”. Gentlemen try to face the realities.And If you think articles are proof, then here is just a very small proof.
