Pakistan is a country with people from various races. Hence, you have different cultures, languages and even looks. I think it's a pity that there is no solidarity between the Pakistani people - too focused on race and color instead of accepting that people come from different backgrounds and languages and what really unites them is a country called Pakistan.....but that's not the case.
Whenever I travel to Pak, I see a lot of cases where people make fun of Pashtuns, Balochis etc and simply discriminate just on the basis of their culture. It happens the other way around as well. A mean circle......
I agree on the fact that the so-called leaders are "good" at playing the race card and hence more violence is created. But the reason why it gets to this level is because of people's mentallity. If people genuinely respected/accepted other cultures and etnicities we wouldn't have this scenario.
One of the reason is that (most or probably more vocal people of) each "race/ethnicity" think of themselves too highly and find it necessary to put down the others when they find some shortcoming in themselves. Calling ourselves Muslims while playing along ethnic lines, identifying themselves with their ethnicity first etc.
