Re: Pakis actually wear this?
GR8Heera: Actually if you say modran..its incorrect. I mean I'm not speaking of the spelling but the pronunciation. MOD-RAN..Thats not how you say it..its said: MOD-ERN..anyways, I don't think I am better because I speak better English. Not at all. A persons character makes them a good person and everyone has the potential to be one. As for calling our parents fobby, we do not. At least I do not. My Mom came to America as a preteen and has perfect English and yet she also speaks perfect Urdu and has made sure her kids do too. I have never heard of any Paki Americans calling their parents fobs but maybe to others who have moved to America at a later stage in their life such as late teen and older. I though think its rude unless you are just trying to say that still have a heavy accent and do the opposite of what is done in America although they do not have to become westernized to fit in as I myself am not.
Sweet_Lil_hunnie: Okay so your half Hindu/Muslim. Thats fine. But why dress one way in front of others to please them and another way for others? I am sure that the Paki side knows you wear revealing clothes st other parties although it should not be their problem and concern.
NJMAsti: It is your opinion that sleeveless is okay. In my opinion it is not and if I ever showed up to my families parties wearing sleeveless I would get a lecture from the elders. I'm not saying I would wear long sleeves to please my family but I do it because I myself believe in it though I do sometimes wear short sleeves but not too short.
