I just joined this forum and found this post very interesting. I have been thru all the post and see how many of us have a hard time finding the perfect make up artist. I know when I got married, I went thru the same but didn't have any feedback so ended up at many places for a trial. even then ended up paying abt 600 dollars to get my make up done for the ceremony and the reception. And recently was able to help my cousin find a make up artist who did an awesome job, I swear you girls gotta try her out I was amazed, her make up looked fresh all night. She is truly a proffessional and when I was talking to her she mentioned how she only books one bride a day so she concentrates only on one bride and her relatives. Totally worth trying her name is Mandy at proVogue- 416 557 9590. I still gotta learn how to update pics, so you girls can see it yourself. :)
I saw someone asking abt Shirley and Dimples work. I know Dimple does amazing mehendi, I agree Punita is always busy we got Punita for my cousin and even I had punita for my own wedding but she books soo many 2-3 brides from morning to midnight trying to do mehendi and we were the last ones, she showed up like two hours late and when she finally came at 9 pm as oppose to 6-7 we ended our mehendi at like 2 am in the morning thank god we had a day in between to catch up on sleep. Dimple's mehendi looks very good , make up I don't know she is alright. Just my advise please make sure they are not trying to squeeze you in, why do we pay soo much and not get first class service???
Hello ladies.. im kinda new here.
anyways, needed huge help, im getting engaged this december inshAllah and i live in mississauga, canada. im DESPERATELY lookin for a decent place to get paki style bridal make-up done..
any of u know of any good places?? like in toronto or mississauga..please help, id greatly appreciate it!
you live in sauga - invite me to you engagement :P i love MUFTA food :)
as an aside, i went to mac at bloor/yonge for my makeup for some friend's wedding and i have to say, they really load it on! i hate that. too much base, too much eye color, too much blush, bleh.
bhenjee, go for trials with everyone! you have until december to get it sorted... plenty of time! :)
Hey guys!
lol...I guess I'm just another new mate on that boat ;-]
Well, like everyone else here I need desperate makeup help for my wedding in July!
I'm actually in Edmonton, but the wedding [and the boy lol] are both in Toronto.
I looked up some previous posts and Zebi sounds like everyone's favorite.
Hence, with that said, I'd really appreciate if someone could give me her contact info.
Thanks guys!
:)
dimple does that but since the mehendi is done the night before, i guess it doesn't really matter? whoever the mehendi lady is, she still has to come to your house before, and whoever the makeup woman is, either she comes to you or you go to her the day of the wedding.
this is really helpful...im getting married this year and lookin out for good makeup artists who work really well with the eyes cuz thats most important to me.
i got my engagement makeup done from shirley...she's good. very experienced and professional i must say! but i think it all depends on makin sure u have a consultation/trial and let her know what u want and dont want. thats what makes the biggest difference.
was wondering if anyone knows any arab makeup artists (cuz i love their eye makeup).
also can someone pls gimme zebi's contact info?
Thank you so much somegroovychick - much appreciated :)
I was wondering if you had any close-ups from your engagement? In the pics you posted you look so pretty :Pretty: (and so happy mashallah - and no make-up artist can fake the glow that comes from within when you're happy ;)) and the overall look looks natural and put together but close-ups would give us an even better idea of zebi's make-up.
