Just an update...my search for a makeup artist (months in the making) is finally over. I've booked Wania from Wania's bridals. She does makeup and Ruchika from Lesonne does hair. They both did a great job.
I only went for 1 previous trial with Esther (who works with Shirley Wu) and although she did eyes good, everything else was sub par.
Wania did everything really good, from eyes, to lips to contouring. She really made me glow. I'm SO happy. And Ruchika is very good at hair too. Usually for hair trials, they have to try a few diff styles and I'm still not satisfied. Ruchika got it right the first time, after I explained what I wanted.
They are both sweethearts and SO nice to deal with. Anyone would feel safe in their hands.
My friend that got married about 1 month ago also used Wania and she looked gorgous.
Needless to say, I can now sleep at night. I think my insomnious days may just be over...
Anyone who is still looking for a MUA. I highly recommend Wania. She's on facebook incase anyone is interested.

Her price starts at $300, but if you want airbrush its an added cost and so are fake eye lashes. She also charges for travel (depending on where you live) but I noticed her travel charge is MUCH less than Shirley and Angell. The total for Wania ended up being less than Shirley...and Shirley's price above I beleive does not include travel, airbrush or fake lashes (I could be wrong) so don't quote me on it. The best thing to do is just call and ask for a quote or go for a trial.
Angell did my engagement makeup...and although I like her and like what she did...I have heard from a few poeple that she rushes. I noticed this as well, like when she talks to you on the phone or in person she is always in a rush.
Wania gave me all the time I needed during the trial and she actually talks to you during the trial to make you feel comfortable...she's more friendly. So you don't feel like some stranger just came to do your makeup and then left.

OMG, i just spoke to Shirley for someone, and she is charging $450 for one day!!!! what. the. heck sorry to say, but a face full of makeup and hair is NOT worth $450! on principle, i'd refuse to pay that. and for someone who wants it done on both days, thats $900 just on hair and makeup??
who does that??
in other news, Zebi now travels. and has never, or will never, charge $450! lol

If canada is suffering a recession just like the US...she should recognize that and adjust her prices. 900 is insane.
my friend got it done from noreen and her makeup was beautiful....altho , you have to tell noreen to take it easy on the foundation

^ Agree...she can make the foundation very heavy.
Shirley's charges are INSANE. Every year it's an increase...I mean come on! $450 is ALOT of money that will LITERALLY go down the drain at the end of the night.

I actually had shirley and I thought she was AMAZING! she came over to my house and was very prompt and exactly on time (even though i was running late). I did the whole airbrushed makeup and she was very quick! My makeup didnt fade, sweat or flake off throughout the entire day and evening. Fake eyelashes were included, and she also gave me some extra lipstick in case mine did come off. She really made me feel and look like a princess! I HIGHLY recommend her! She listened to all my recommendations and what i was looking for...and the makeup was definitely not too heavy and and loaded with foundation..it was just perfect! And lucky for me, I only booked her 2 weeks right before my wedding.

Has anyone ever used xpressions bridal hair & makeup, I looked thru their pics on facebook…I think there’s two girls that do the makeup, ruby and amber…but their makeup looks really nice

^ kavita suri does horrible stuff, sorry to say. my friend had them for her valima and i happened to run into her in the ladies room, and it was caked on like no tomorrow. my friend has a slightly darker complexion and it looked like they'd done their best to lighten it - it didn't look good :/
having said that, i haven't seen any of her other brides, so i don't know, maybe she was having an off day or something?
