Pak put up a good fight though. Imagine 298 chasing 356! That's high pressure

Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
To be honest armughal, before pak innings started, i thought the whole team would be out with 200 or 250 runs max. Considering that we made it to 298 and even Akmal put up some fight and considering how we threw away wickets in the first ODI, this has got to be a fight. Yes, end result is still defeat, thats the only thing you are right about.

ye kya kiya thumlogo ne! Tendulkar aur Yuvraj ko bada bowler bana diya....Ganguly & Kaif replaced by Murali Karthik and who?
Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
Koi baat nahi. 5-1 na sahi, we will win the series 4-2

Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
if you look at the past matches that were close, you’ll see the same pattern. karachi match, match against NZ, and many other closely fought matches, you always see good performance by lower order no matter what. so for akmal to chip in with few runs is nothing special. he simply played his shots and got runs.
i would have accepted the deaft if team were to get out at 250 or less. but to come this far only to lose, that unacceptable. shows this team lacks mental toughness to handle pressure situations.
can’t say better luck next time bcos you make your own luck.

Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
356 was never gonna be easy...though I would say Pakistan did well to come this far
if you apply the same kind of pressure on Indian batting it would too crumble(and maybe do even worse)...so no point in blaming them...so hope that next time Inzy wins the toss :)

Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
I am an ardent Afridi Fan but it was amazing to see how many people were pleading for him opening the innings despite the knowledge that he has brilliantly settled himself in the lower order. Yes he opened successfully in tests but one should keep in mind that initially the white ball swings in the air more than the red one which seams more (regardless of batting friendly conditions) and that is why he is bound to fail more often up the order than down the order. I just hope team management doesnt ruin his great recent form by sending him up again.
Razzaq-Afridi combo down the order is deadly to say the least and does not need to be disturbed for remaining matches.
Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
Razzaq came 1-down and found his form and plays fast bowlers better than most. I think this is where he should play.
Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
This is another failed experiment. Up the order, Razzaq has always been a hit-and-miss sort of player. His late order batting is what makes him a permanent member of one day squad. He came to bat early today because of the target and played well, thats good.
Re: PAK Vs Ind 2nd oneday Vizag(5th April '05)
^^ Razzler was not the problem today. It was the bowling of our specialist bowlers with Naveed beeing a rather positive exception.
