we lost basically cuz of waqar younis;s **** captaining.screw him..he;s not even dat good a bowler now,...dats wat haoppens wen politics n cricket combine...everybody's sooo freaking worrie abt deir own individual performances(which dey cant even perfect or get close to good) dat dey dont know wat da heck team working is!!!
Pakistan need to play Saeed Bhai as soon as they can. We are desperately in need of the best opener we have ever produced.
Saeed Bhai has been training hard in the nets and he seems to be timing the ball well so hopefully he will be able to adjust to the wickets as soon as possible. He is a match winner and the only class opener we have.
I think Pakistan may want to try opening the innings with Saeed Bhai and someone like Azhar Mahmood to give us more depth in bowling and someone who can at least make 20 odd runs unlike Afridi.

I have to say i thought Elahi played pretty well against the Aussies. I think Taufeeq was doing ok as well considering the opposition.
I agree Xtreme, Elahi did play some really courageous strokes and for once he wasnt edging deleveries and playing and missing, he messed Mcgraths line by shuffling and working n the leg side and hit some spanking boundaries.

Razzaq cud be put in for elahi but then we dont have an opener!
It was mainly the planning that went wrong.....bad captaincy.....Akram cud do much better as a captain!
the senior players need to sit together and work out a plan for imp. matches like the one against india n england.....we still have a good chance considerin the fatc tht we beat asutralia in a pool match in 99....doesnt really make tht much of a difference.
It would be a tough choice to make in the next match. I think Elahi and Taufeeq Umar played well. But we would also need Afrid against weaker oppositions to blast them away and give us a better run rate incase its decided by run rate who goes into super six. If Anwar is coming back, then we really cant play Afrdi, Elahi & Umar… unless one of the batsmen. Now Younis Khan was in good nick in the warm up matches, Inzi and YoYo are both the main batsmen we have.
The best thing we can go is drop Waqar and bring in Azhar… but that aint happening either… SO lets see what the great captain decided to do in the next match. We need to have a good fix combination before we play India on March 1st. and hopefullwe 'll kick there a**

It wasn't a bad match for our team who is not really in great form....though all the aussies openers failed but they still managed to score 310 is just coz no matter what they do they are the best.....we need to be consistent and not repeat mistakes....let's see what happens next forget this one as it was against aussies so it was a tough one...
Good Luck for the rest of the cup....if they beat india we can forgive them and india won against Holland but they scored 204...we scored better than that against aussies....

Edited: I had problems selecting squad. Team must have sixth bowler. Seems like we can’t bank on Afridi, anymore. 
Therefore, Taufeeq Umer has to replace Afridi, which I hate it. 
Young fella is growing and would be a Jr. Anwar one day. 
Anyway, we have to wait 3 more days over team selection for the next match against Namibia. Hopefully, Waqar doesn’t make the ‘repeated mistakes’ in up coming matches like selecting fielding after winning the toss, not playing with Saqlain.
Comeon guys...dont hype up Pak vs namibia match..

Well I must say its a good selection, but I think against teams like Nambia, England, and Zimbabve and India, we should have Afridi in the team. Because Afridi has played well against these teams. As for Australia and South Africa, I think it would be the right thing to do by including Azhar Mehmood instead of Razzaq. Razzaq hasn't been playing well over the last while now. And about Taufeeq Umer, I don't believe he is One Day Material yet. He seemed to be in a rush. Saleem Elahi looked much more confident and played better shots than Taufeeq.

So guys I think against Namibia Pakistan should rest some of their main players and play the other 4 remaining players who didn’t make it to the top 11 against Australia, I’m talking about Saeed Anwar, Muhmmad Sami, Azhar Mahmood and Saqlain Mushtaq.
Sami can be brought in for Shoaib.
Saeed can come in for Youhana
Azhar should come in for Razzaq
And Saqlain should come in for Latif, I know its not the perfect replacement but we need to look for a replacement if something happens to Latif, injuries or a match ban etc.
And either Younis Khan or Taufeeq Umar can keep wickets.
