So no comment on him (Modi) being criminal? ;)

He has been removed from his post.

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy’s chase.

Terrorists dont care if you find out where they are from. I think your implying that they were sent by the ISI or the Army etc and so they needed to cover it up, a common accusation from Indians. Again, that belief is not supported by fact. Seems the Indian imagination has created a monster that onyy exists in their imagination.

They could however have been spies. Why not. Perhaps some corrupt Indian official sold some sensitive information and this was the means used to transport it. Its happened before.

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy’s chase.

Why would terrorist use the sea-route… when they have looooooooooooooooong border and they can cross easily??? compare to sea-route, land route is alot easier and secure, whereas sea-route is riskier and have great chance of getting caught with no option to run if intercepted!!!

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy's chase.

Well, terrorists would use whatever route they can, but it would be rather stupid to use the same route twice.

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy's chase.

I am not implying anything, however you cannot deny that a Pak hand is one of the possibilities. My statement is more generic - someone did not want the real origins of the planned attack to be known, if the attack failed.

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy's chase.

The destruction of the boat would have led to destruction of all evidence.

Re: Pak vessel explodes itself after Indian Navy's chase.

Its possible there are rogue elements within the security estabishment who may try to engage in such things, after al there have such inidividuals behind attacks in Pakistan. However, i highly doubt that there is an official endorsement off or a policy on the part of the ISI, Army or govt, of sending terrorists into India. Rogue elements exist within the rank and file of all institutions in all countries, including India.

If there was official involvement of Pakistan security establishment, it must have been an espionage not a terrorist mission. Espionage is a common thing among nations, but for Pakistan to be directly involved in terrorist attacks within India seems absurd. They would have nothing to gain by it.

Fair Indian inquiry into boat incident urged - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office said on Thursday that Pakistani law-enforcement agencies had begun their own probe into the “terror boat” incident claimed by India and again called upon the latter to transparently investigate the issue.
“We expect that there will be a transparent investigation by the Indian government to ascertain the facts of the incident and the circumstance in which the boat caught fire and some people got killed,” FO spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said at the weekly media briefing.

The Indian government had claimed to have intercepted a suspicious boat from Keti Bandar (Pakistan) on the New Year night after an hour-long chase. But it was said that the crew afterwards set the boat on fire, which exploded and sank.
The Indian claim was questioned not only in Pakistan but also in India, with many believing that India created the hype to heap the blame on its estranged neighbour.
“There is a debate in India and questions are being raised about the claims and circumstance under which the people in the boat were targeted and boat was set on fire,” the spokesperson said, adding that Delhi apparently had no “sound evidence” to substantiate its allegations.
Ms Aslam said that although India had not shared any information with Pakistan about the incident through diplomatic channels, the latter had on its part started its own probe.
“Based on media reports, our authorities in Pakistan are conducting an inquiry into the incident primarily to ascertain if any Pakistani fishing boat is missing at sea,” she said.
Answering a question about the killing of two Pakistani Rangers personnel by the Indian BSF after having invited them to a border ‘flag meeting’, the spokesperson acknowledged the receipt of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s response to Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz’s letter. The Indian minister had denied Pakistani allegations.
Ms Aslam said India should investigate the matter instead of outrightly rejecting the allegations. “We expect that India, instead of denying, will investigate the circumstance under which the two personnel of Rangers were martyred, conduct a transparent inquiry and bring the responsible for this crime to justice,” she added.
PARIS ATTACK: Pakistan condemned the attack on the offices of satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo in which 12 people were killed.
“We have condemned the attack as we are opposed to terrorism in its all forms and manifestations,” the FO spokesperson said.
Pakistan’s statement of condemnation called upon the international community to continue to stand firm against terrorism and bring the perpetrators of terrorist acts to justice.
President Mamnoon Hussain sent a condolence letter to his French counterpart Francois Hollande in which he said that for the world to remain peaceful “there is a need for concerted global actions against terrorism and violent extremism”.
The FO spokesperson used the occasion to flag Pakistani position on caricatures. Charlie Hebdo was one of the magazines that published the caricatures.
“On the issue of cartoons and caricatures, you know the position Pakistan holds and the position of the Muslim world expressed through the OIC. Pakistan is part of various initiatives for promoting tolerance, inter-faith harmony and eschewing Islamophobia. In this context, Pakistan tables a resolution at the UN General Assembly which is adopted by the consensus,” Ms Aslam said.

Explain Who Blew Up Fishing Boat, Says Pakistan to India

All India | Agencies | Updated: February 18, 2015 20:08 IST

The Pakistani boat blew up off the coast of Gujarat on December 31.

***ISLAMABAD: Pakistan says India must explain what caused a Pakistani fishing boat to explode, killing four people on board on New Year’s Eve, after a senior coast guard official said it was deliberately targeted. BK Loshali, Deputy Inspector General of the Coast Guard, is shown in a video released by the Indian Express newspaper saying he gave an order to attack the boat as it approached Indian waters off the Gujarat coast.

The comments contradict the government’s version that the boat laden with explosives was intercepted by the coast guard because it was planning an unspecified illegal transaction and the people on board set it on fire, causing it to explode.

“I hope you remember 31st December, we blew off the Pakistani,” Mr Loshali said in the video. “I was there at Gandhinagar and I told at night blow the boat off. We don’t want to serve them biryani.”

“India has once again proved to be heinous in its face, design and urge for peace,” said Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, according to local media. “It has once again been proven that India has violated international rules and disregarded the humanitarian considerations.”

The development comes as India and Pakistan’s foreign secretaries are set to resume dialogue next month. In August, India cancelled talks after Pakistan’s envoy in New Delhi hosted Kashmiri separatists in the run-up to those talks. Cross-border violence in October was the worst in over a decade.

At a news conference on Wednesday, Mr Loshali denied making the statements and said he was not in a position to know what happened that day because he did not handle the operation.
“I have been misquoted; the boat actually set itself on fire and sunk,” the officer said. “I was not privy to whatever was happening at that ground that day.”

After his comments, the Indian Express released the video.

Opposition politicians have demanded an explanation from the government.

Finally the government caught on. We’ve been asking the same thing in this thread for months.

If Pakistani fishing boat is really blown up as Loshali asserted, as an Indian I really feel ashamed of what Indian establishment did. We have no right to condemn Pakistan, if what we do is not different from what they have been doing. Request the Indian government, don’t brand innocents as terrorists (be they Indians or Pakistanis) and cook up a heroic story after killing them. hskant

Pak terror boat row: Footage busts Coast Guard DIG BK Loshali’s claim

NEW DELHI: The Coast Guard on Friday has released a video footage of the Pakistani “terror boat” incident that took place on December 31. After releasing the footage, the Coast Guard said it didn’t blow up the boat as claimed by a DIG of the force BK Loshali.

Loshali, the chief of staff (northwest region, Coast Guard), on Thursday submitted his reply to the show-cause notice slapped on him by the Coast Guard to explain his “serious misconduct” during a function to launch an interceptor boat at Surat on Monday.

A board of inquiry, set up by the Coast Guard to probe the matter, did not find Loshali’s reply as satisfactory.

Earlier, a red-faced government was forced to launch a damage-control exercise on Wednesday after a video surfaced showing Loshali bragging that he had ordered Coast Guard patrol vessel ICGS Rajratan to “blow off” the suspicious Pakistani fishing boat on the intervening night of December 31-January 1.

This contradicted the sequence of events given out by the defence ministry and Coast Guard soon after the incident.

Defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said the DIG’s statement could not change the “ground reality”, stressing that his ministry firmly stood by its earlier stand that the “rogue” boat had been set ablaze by the four “suspected terrorists” on it after being intercepted by ICGS Rajratan.
