he gave extra 40 runs from an average, and we lost exactly by 34 runs, had he not given away more than average we might have won 
I believe there was threat from IQ / selectors that if the 4 seniors don’t perform in the ODI series they will likely be dropped, all the seniors are 30+.

UA has to play. Either in place of Jamshed or YK. Hate to say this but must play UA.
I'd go for UA, keep Wahab Riaz for batting-only and drop Shoaib Malik.
Younis Khan has disappointed so far in this tour, as much as we with this may not be the last outing for Misbah and Younis, they probably are going to hang around until the Champions Trophy.

We definitely want to build an inning within 50 overs, but by 2015 world cup they will be building an inning in 200 overs :D

Nasir Jamshed is just going thru a lean patch at the moment. He is talented and I would persist with him. Need Ahmed Shehzad and Razzaq back for the Champions trophy. Kamran Akmal should be dropped. Two from - Misbah (captain, hence stays), Younis and Malik - need to go.
Ideally (with no squad restrictions), this should be our ODI team.
