Nothing to be afraid. You need to give your bowlers some rest plus lots of time left. make the lead bigger and the pitch rougher, than unleash your spinners on it. Right decision.

Very good bowling by Rahat, very impressive. Imran couldnt take any wicket but the pitch is dead too. I think he needs some more time. And we have better bowlers in the bullpen so he may not get another chance.

Yes they want to save the bowlers for getting exhausted in extorting heat. Its totally fine. Also lets hope last day wicket will take more turn. Will be great to see spinners rolling.
I also like seeing Misbah (and coaches) taking bold decisions. We always needed a daring captain like Dhoni :)
Misbah is in his comfertzone. Not enforcing the f/o shows he still doesn't trust his batsmen.
Our bowlers haven't been tested so far. Acouple of days of hard work would prepare them for when things don't go your way.

We need another fastest hundred perhaps. Misbah must declare atleast an hour before tea. A lead of 450+ should be enough. But the way we know him, he may end up batting till tea with 500 lead.
Another superb outing by the lads. But like Howzat, it would have been great to see the follow on as the pitch seemed to be favor the bowlers, thus adding extra pressure to the Kiwis.
Well hoping they bat a bit aggressively tomorrow and put up a quick 150 or so and turn it over back to them.

Pakistan needs to bat at a brisk pace and take a lead of 500 by mid afternoon and than put NZ in.

If Pakistan can score at 3.5 RPO for 45 overs = score 157 and 15 overs of 5 RPO = 75, total of 232. That means Pakistan playing 60 overs and leaving 30 overs for Kiwis and Pakistanis lead 551.

i don't understand why Pakistanis, like last test, did NOT enforce follow on? this time around time left is shorter than last test. it might end in a draw if they don't give themselves around 1.5 days to bowl out NZ's 2nd innings and win the test match.

Its pleasant weather here in Abu Dhabi. but I agree wicket taking some turn and I hope they will not take too much time for declaration.

I did see that post. And refrained. But this is too tempting.
Dhoni is an unimaginative captain. Ultra defensive. Doesn't take chances. He inherited a great batting line up. Poor wicketkeeper. Poor batsman in foreign pitches. (The England performance was an aberration. Got lives in the beginning of almost every inning). Goes fishing outside the off stump. Doesn't dive for catches between him and first slip. Misses stumpings. Should not even be in Test eleven.
