Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Anderson (caught behind) not given out by Billy Bowden. Clear nick on replay. snicko shows a faint edge. Rahat unlucky
Anderson rubs it in by hitting two successive sixes
Billy Bowden Is a good umpire. But got to wonder - close decisions game changing decisions with match on the line always go against sun continent. Quite frankly, we need more diversity among umpires. 90 pct are of same race.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Watched Pam bat 3 overs. Counted 3 runs that Pak batsmen didn't take that they could have taken.
Watched 2 overs of NZ batting. In last or 2nd last over they took a quick single with man on the ring. Pak missed even easier single.
Maybe that was the difference too.

Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
It is really sad how the tail folded. We are weak both at the opening and the tail. Both Azhar and Shehzad should go. The tragedy is that shehzad will be opening the innings at the T20 world cup as well. The only good thing to come out of this tour is the emergence of Babar Azam and Amir's gradual return.
The way we failed to post 300+ runs is what cost us the match. I thought we were heading for 330/340 when Hafeez and Babar were going well.

Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Amir was the only decent bowler in the team, everyone else just bowling SHORT BALLS repeatedly, not sure what they're trying to accomplish with such small grounds. No common sense at all. And they can't bowl yorkers at all or keep line/length straight into wicket, too many legside wides and over the head wides. What a failure of bowling (exception is Amir)
Why would Azhar Ali come to open and straight away dot balls and defensive batting on a batting wicket. Not a team material at all, wonder whose parchi he is from. Shahzad has been given thounsands of chances yet can't perform. Hafeez, as someone said, makes runs when about to be dropped, and why Sarfaraz coming with tailenders.
Wahab trying to hit everything oout of the ground, such stupid batting.
Batting and bowling failures plus sloppy fielding cost it all. Only worthwhile contributions from Babar, and Amir and Sarfaraz.
Rest are useless.

on point 1: fair point but there is an element of it is what it is. set players can always get out after a good innings and there is no guarantee they can play all the way. yes, you can tell them to play till the end but they can still lose the wicket.
the team shd have inherently some depth in its batting to build on a good score. that is where the problem is and that is what needs to be addressed. maybe bring asad shafiq in the middle?
on tail- agreed that tail shd contribute and yes we have a pathetic tail. we all know that for good 80 years sir jee. but is there any solution? we need to discuss what can w e do this tail. any talent bakchhome? bring baack anwar and kick rahat out for sure
wasting the review: in hindsight everything looks easy. if i was the captain, i would have taken the review. you have to take that review, it was NZ batting's backbone williamson and it looked close. the issue is not why we took one review, the issue is we need more than 1 review stupid ICC.
on azhar...i partially agree, he shd not be the skipper at all but i think he was scoring big few matches ago, so maybe we can give him few more matches
thx
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
i am only watching this series to see aamir's progress. very happy with his today's performance. he was using the seam much better. great waqar is definitely helping him. ammir was finally bringing the ball back into right handers. not perfect but he has started to do it. he still needs to use crease better but overall he is getting there
rest are useless and I gave up on them 4 years ago and really dont care abt them. khota khota hee rehta hai, ghora nahieen ban jata by training and hard work. all these bowlers wahab riaz, anwar ali, rahat ali are nothing but mohsin kamals, saleem jafars and azeem hafizs of 80s and the moment wasim akram and waqar appeared, they disappeared.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Agreed one review is not enough. It should be 2 per each ODI innings and 3 (instead of 2) per each test innings (reset after 80 overs)
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
There were two turning points in both innings for Pak. First when Rizwan got run out. It was very unfortunate. I'm quite sure Sarfraz-Rizwan could have built a handy partnership to atleast add up 30-40 runs.
Second is the umpire's decision that went in favor of NZ. That would have sealed the deal in Pakistani favor.
Its the same as in India-Aus fifth ODI when Aussies started dropping catches like zimbabwe and India won that game.
But atleast we had a good finish. So much better than first game.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
He didnt throw his wicket it was a good ball.
I think it was Babar who got frustrated by the dot-balls and gave it up, and that is when the down-the-hill started for Pak inning.

Didn't watch the match. If the Williamson decision was close. And the other guy Corey Andeerson was out, you can see the problem with DRS. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, there is a problem with racial makeup of (ch)umps
If umpire has a bias, he will call close decisions one way. And even upon review, for LBW, call on the ground stands!
Looks like a close decision wnet NZ way. And an OUT decision also went NZ way.
Someone needs to address the Elephant in the room - the racial disparity when it comes to umpires. At some point, the umpires shoukd reflect the playing nations - Test, ODI and T20.
Will there be poor calls by umpires whose skin is not of a certain color? Yes. But without a chance, they can never improve.
What message is being sent? That only whites are competent umps? That onky they are fair and honest?
Ridiculous, I say. What say you?
