Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Sarfaraz lucky to survive gets a streaky 4
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
It's been a while since there has been some streaking on the cricket ground.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Bad luck. Out.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Steve Smith is one player who takes huge lead. Has been lucky. Glen Maxwell alway plays fair. And stays in crease. Lo5 of Indians are careless and don't get baklck on time. This one was bad luck. Bang bang.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Last ball of 39th over, another single let go. Batsman calked. But non striker didn't respod. Hit to left of mid on who was deep.
That is 3 runs in last 3 overs.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Nice quick single. Wahab mysteriously hesitate with Sarfraz three quarter way down.
2nd last ball of 40th was a single off leading edge. It went slowly and to right of fielder. Plenty of time.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Sarfraz in form.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Why woukd commentator call that lbw close? Clear glove.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Nice emphatic call. Good single
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
"All sorts of Screaming going on from the blokes in green. Nothing happens"
That was funny!
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
289/9
The innings fell away after that brilliant partnership between Hafeez and Babar (one of them needed to stay till the end).
It is still a competitive if not an impossible total on the short NZ grounds. At one stage 330 plus was on
Our tail is too long in this game. The fact that most of them are useless with the bat is a big disadvantage.
Sarfraz needs to take charge and make sure that we somehow bat out the full 50 overs
Regardless of the outcome today, Azhar needs to go. He does not belong in the ODI side. He should be dropped and Hafeez should lead imo
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
**Pakistan had got to 200 for 3 in 29.2 overs, with Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik going really well, and they have finished up with only 290. **They had a long tail, which was exposed early and did not have the depth to go hard in the slog. Credit to McCullum for attacking with his strike bowlers even when Pakistan's batsmen were scoring rapidly. It's paid off for the visitors looked set for at least 330 at one stage.
Chris: "I said earlier 320 is just about a winning score, 290 wont be an easy chase - but if McCullum and Guptill take the run rate out of the equation early (especially with rain around) then it could just need a calm chase to win with ease. Pakistan were heading for 400 if they hadn't lost those top/middle order wickets halfway through."
Umair Ali: "Once again ridiculous batting display. At 40 overs: 258/6 then 290 all out on one of the easiest batting track in NZ...A frustrated Pakistani fan."
Kapil: "@Kane Bunce: if Pak bowlers get on roll, 200 is good enough. McCullum coming after a break and Guptill not fully fit, NZ may just go down today. Runs on board always help"
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
We have arguably the worst tail among established teams in world cricket. Most of them are complete mugs with the bat which is not good enough at this level
Had it not been for that Hafeez-Babar partnership we would have not crossed 250
Sarfraz could have done better. The attempted pull was unnecessary given the match situation
Net result: 2.3 overs wasted by Pakistan
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Nz reply strongly.
Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI

Re: Pak V NZ 3rd ODI
Anderson (caught behind) not given out by Billy Bowden. Clear nick on replay. snicko shows a faint edge. Rahat unlucky
Anderson rubs it in by hitting two successive sixes
