Boult to Shan Masood, OUT, another wicket! Fiery yorker from Boult, that has hit the batsman right in front. He was shuffling across and looking to flick but there was some inswing that is enough to beat the bat. Masood asks for a review. But it looks like a very good shout. Hitting or clipping leg, which would mean he will have to go. The batsman was hit on the back heel, not a long distance to go before the stumps. That ball definitely reversed in. Long wait as the umpires want to check for the inside edge too. No bat.. the ball is hitting the leg stump
Shan Masood lbw b Boult 40 (95b 1x4 2x6) SR: 42.10
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Getting out is the result of playing too many dotballs...lol
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
73/3
Time to shut up the shop?
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Still 42 overs
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
So that's why Misbah avoided to play on 5th day pitch.
Its not easy to survie on this pitch.
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
perhaps you didnt realize that this is test cricket where you cannot expect smooth sailing every time, especially in pressure situation. You want to see your hero making runs and care less if other players are wasted by shuffling their playing order.
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Now we will be talking about 'how to save the match'...lol

Misbah gone.
Pakistan in deep trouble.

What you wrote is completely untrue.
I know what test cricket is, and I believe a good captain should evaluate the situation, requirement of the game, and weigh all options open to him. No one can say about any player when he would get out, and I do not see any reason Pakistani players playing should have batting order as it is. It was possible from start that players in order could get out early as happened, or later batsmen coming up in order get out early or play long inning. Looking at first class averages (and also test average), I do not think Misbah has done justice in sending players who get nervous in second inning. For instance, Taufeeq average in second inning is below 15 runs, so what Misbah was expecting from Taufeeq to send him as opener, a century? Azhar is slow player, that one can see from his strike rate in test that is below 40. His first class average is below 40 too, and his test average was below 40 until recently.
Anyhow, let watch the match and hope for the best.
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Negative approach from beginning make kiwis on top. Had pakistan made a firing 50 kiwis must be on back foot. On this pitch wickets will go In any case how ever some quick runs n kiwis can't afford to bring close in fielder's hence defense will be much safe to batter. Now they know that pk will go for draw hence kiwis will bring load of close in fielder's.

and shan masood is from karachi (or has been playing for karachi), as you dont mention him so he is ok even if his average is poor. :D
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
I know shan Masood is a player from Karachi, still … Please correct yourself. Even though Shan Masood made more than half of the runs or 40 runs out of 70 runs that came from batsman bats at the time he got out, Check my post (#228](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/cricketnama/649701-pak-v-nz-2nd-test-13.html#post10194808))
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Sometimes the Pakistan batsmen are so laughable that they cannot rotate the strikes...just getting out by defending and blocking...lol
Are we trying to win or for a draw... :D
89/4...RRR 5.0
Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
you mentioned average of azhar but not of shan. you have excuse for him. keep it up.

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
If I was selector, I would not have included Shan (or any batsman) in test team until he played enough domestic cricket and showed his performance in last 50 first class innings with good averages of at least 40 plus (ideally 45 plus), but I am not selector.
On the other hand, if I was selector than Ramaiz Raja would have never been in team with first class average ~ 36 (test average 32) when there was another batsman he used to replace most of the time (Shoaib Mohammad) whose first class average was ~42 (test average 44). If I was selector than most players who play in Pakistan team would not be there.
If I was selector than Fawaz Alam (Karachi) would have been in team as his average (56.64) in first class is highest any Pakistani player ever had and only 23 players have higher average in history than him. I would also included Haris Sohail (Sialkot) in the team as his first class average (52.01) is 4th highest for any Pakistani (last name in the list below). Other two Pakistani name in the list is Miandad whose first class average was (53.37) and Hanif Mohammad whose first class average was (52.34)

If a player cannot make runs in domestic cricket and post first class average above 40 … than what such player would do in test other than make runs if lucky, that is all. But in Pakistan, players get in test team because of parchi aur tasub, and not performance, so what one can expect from them?
But then I am not selector, am I? ![]()

Test heading towards a draw unless we have one of our familiar collapse.

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
Pk used to throw players fro u 19 direct to int. Cricket.this gamble some time won while some time not.
There needs to be one selection criteria clear to the players. Suppose criteria is first class all Pl will know that if they perform they will be in the team. Hence make selection process transparent.
