I hope Misbah doesn't go on the defense right from the start, like he usually does. Aussies will come hard at them. They got a couple of players who need to prove a point and they will come out swinging.
I dont think he is defensive in test cricket. Test series with Srilanka is evidence.
Ahmed Shahzad has completed his 500* Test runs in his 7th Test Match and I am missing Javed Miandad who scored 500+ in his first test series of 3 test matches.
10.2
Starc to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, short again, a bit of width again, and this time he’s in the perfect position to steer it away behind point to bring up the first boundary of the morning
13.2
Lyon to Ahmed Shehzad, 3 runs, beauty! That was tossed up, drifting across towards off stump, and Shehzad came forward to defend, played for the turn, and the ball kept going with the angle and beat his outside edge, missed off stump, and beat Haddin as well
14.4
Starc to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, shot! That wasn’t quite up there to drive, but it was full enough for Shehzad to come forward and punch it on up between short cover and mid-off
14.3
Starc to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, full outside off. Shehzad jams his bat down on it and opens his bat face to steer it away backward of point
Hafeez bus ghalti say edge ho gia. Management should think seriously about other option.
Fifty Up
16.5
Johnson to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR, full outside off, and Hafeez throws his hands at it without moving his feet. Outside edge runs away to the third man boundary to bring up Pakistan’s fifty
17.6
Lyon to Ahmed Shehzad, OUT, got him! Shehzad kept playing back to length balls. It was okay as long as he was playing with a straight bat, but this time he looked to work it off the stumps into the leg side and missed. Struck plumb in front of middle, and he didn't review. Good decision. Ahmed Shehzad lbw b Lyon 35 (64b 3x4 0x6) SR: 54.68
Nice performance by Pakistan. I hope they will continue the same after lunch.
82/1 (25 overs)
12.00pm And that’s lunch. Excellent session for Pakistan, they only lost the one wicket. Hafeez and Azhar have looked quite solid to end the session, but Siddle was showing signs of getting reverse swing just as it was about to end. There has been a bit of help for Lyon, the only wicket-taker, and Australia will hope they can use spin and reverse to make some inroads in the second session.
24.6
Siddle to Azhar Ali, 2 runs, full, a bit of shape in, but it’s a touch too straight, and he clips it off his toes towards deep midwicket
24.5
Siddle to Azhar Ali, no run, full on off stump, defended towards midwicket
now there’s a fielder stationed at a deepish, very straight mid-off, almost right behind the bowler. Azhar stops Siddle in his run-up, and points out the fielder, but the umpire says he’s allowed to field there
24.4
Siddle to Azhar Ali, FOUR, full on off stump, punched down the ground and timed very well. The bowler couldn’t get down quickly enough in his follow-through to stop that, and the umpire skipped out of the way to let it run away to the boundary
