A Pakistani origin British youngster Junaid Imtiaz Malik has made history by becoming the first Asian to play for a United Kingdom’s national Rugby team.
At just over 20, Malik has played France, Australia, Morocco, Canada, Italy, US and Japan’s amateur teams.
“I am considering to join a professional team (Hood-field Giants). I will make a decision in this regard soon”, he said.
The law graduate from Bradford University said, “the sport can be developed in Pakistan if proper government funding came through. Sponsorship from private organisations is also helpful”.
I have not been able to find any links to the story but will let you know if I do find any. I did a search and found his name mostly as a member of the Rugby teams but not any article as such.
