Obviously, this article is not the only one published on this story. Aren’t the words below quite clear ?

A Pakistani woman and her daughter were allegedly abducted and gang-raped for 12 days because the daughter got university education against the wishes of some leaders of their Mirali tribe.

Whether the incident happen after some tribal judiciary or not was not the emphasis, rather that she belonged to a poor helpless family (and not to a caste).

Anyway, such cases will keep occurring until and unless law is implemented for everyone (not just for people but also for ‘powerful’ people), people get education. When feudal lords are uneducated or weak themselves they feel threatened when people under them esp women start getting educated.

If you had cared to read my original post, it clearly mentioned 'tribal judicial system'. I guess you just jumped on the 'lower caste girl' part without reading the post in its entirety.

I thought folks in Punjab and Sindh, due to their proxmity to India and familial as well traditional bond with sikhism and hinduism were inherentely a lot more tolerant towards women folk than their taliban inspired ultra-conservative compatriots in the western provinces of Sarhad and Balochistan....

The do these egregious mysoginistic and atrocities against women, i.e. gang rape, parading naked in the villages, honor killing and etc. are all commited in Punjab and Sindh....

Farid, do you really mean to say you are sure there wasnt a single rape during the times of Bhutto, Nawaz or BB and rapes in Pakistan's history have only occured during Ayub, Yahya, Zia, Musharraf eras...?
I'd say then perhaps they are reported only during military regimes, and perhaps during feudal, industrialist regimes victims sew their lips out of fear. Because rape has been there regardless of the times being 'democratic' or 'undemocratic'.
I cant prove it, but since you claimed that rape takes place only under military govts, perhaps you could then provide proof on how rapes take place under military govts only or how non-military govts had completely rape free times...

I didn,t say that. But magnitude of such crime has never been either reported or happened. Rape cases in those eras were tried in courts and culprit punished. All those gang rape cases occured during dictatorship, neither cultprits were caught nor they were tried and punished. Again I say give such example that happened in civilian governments.
