A bad day at office for Pak bowlers, we dropped the whole bowling lineup of last test and it was bound to happen but Mohammad Irshad really disappointed. Only Mohammad Asif has respectable figures.
To be honest it was all expected, i am happy that it's abtting pitch and now our batsmen should have NO excuse this time and they MUST score some runs.
well it is fair to give chance to all top performers in domestic cricket ... we shouldnt expect miracles from them just in one game ... it is good experience for them that they are playing against a strong international team..inshallah they will grow in confidence and abilities with time!!!
If they still waste Hasan Raza ( a genuine TEST batsman) then good luck to our test team, this guy has enormous potential to play long innings and he has been wasted for last few years, he MUST be included in TEST squad.
Nice knock for Hasan, I wonder if they will start thinking about bringing him into the side at say Asim Kamals expense,,,,,,,,,
Also Mansoor Amjad looks like a test quality spinning allrounder
He is not test quality leg spinner as yet, leg spinners need a lot of time before they are mature enough for TEST matches. We have played Arshad Khan in quite a few ODI's recently and i don't see any reason why Mansoor should NOT replace him.
He should be given chance in ODI's and then promoted to TESTS.
Way to come back from the wedding!! Hope he (Hasan Raza) gets picked for the Tests and is given a decent run. I’ve been advocating his cause since forever but noone listens. Maybe if I had Woolmer’s or Inzi’s ear… I have no hope from the selectors.
I doubt he will get a chance in tests this time around unless something drastic happens. He is a middle order batsman and our middle order pretty packed with Inzimam, Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan perhaps Asim Kamal if we decide to go with 6 specislist batsmen. Plus Misbah hasnt had a decent run himself so he is out there along with Yasir Hameed competing for either an opening slot or 1 down along with Salman Butt, Taufeeq Umar & Imran Farhat.

Asim Kamal deserves to play but Afridi DOES NOT want to open now and he is in good form with bat and MUST be played against ENGLAND because of his spin bowling, so Kamal should miss out because he failed at top of the order.

Maybe Shoaib Malik or Afridi or Kamran Akmal or Younis Khan can/will open. But this way we have 3 seamers and 3 spinners. The batting goes all the way down to #10 with Naveed who can also provide support to anyone playing with him, Naveed also scored a ton in the county so he is not a clueless tailender. Shoaib and Rana seem to in good form, will have to wait and see how Sami does or if he plays. Afridi, Malik and Razzaq ae all quality allrounders with Malik and Razzaq actually also with a good defesive technique but we would need Afridi in there as well to fight fire with fire. If Pieterson fires for England and Afridi fires for us it would be one hell of a test match for the public. Plus Afridi has developed himself as a more then useful spinner with his weird varioations he is very handy to have as a spinner. Razaaq can bowl well in patches but at times he is more then capable of destorying batting line-ups all by himself. And Shoaib Malik would play primarliy as a batting allrounder who can come in for a little variety since both Danish and Afridi are leggies so it would be nice to have an off spinner.
