Legends or Reality.
I dont know if they still exist in deserted rural areas of Sindh & Punjab or they have become legends with additional supper natural abilities in their stories.
They basically follow the foot steps of the thief to find out who he/she was. Marks of the foots some how represent many things, such as weight of the person, male or female foot marks, the distance between the steps may represent the height of the person & walking style suggests that the person basically belongs to this town or s/he doesnt (they say every village or community have this signature in walking style – to me this one is bit difficult to digest).
Khair the conclusion, some of them r pretty good in their job & famous. Ppl invite them from different villages to investigate & like Sherlock Homes, they often succeed.
