Re: Pain!!

can be a urinary tract infection...

Re: Pain!!

yups could be UTI , it happens sometimes due to poor hygiene , like using untidy public restroom and is common among females

Re: Pain!!

Please See your Doctor as soon as possible as it can get complicated if left untreated.Drink Plenty of water and Cranberry Juice and you most probably need an antibiotic to cure it.Go see a Doctor

Here is more information you can read about
Treatment of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

Re: Pain!!

most likely it's a UTI that you have had for a long period of time. Get it treated ASAP.

Re: Pain!!

is it very serious?! i mean if its not treated what could be its long term effects???

Get urself cranberry juice and have plenty of water (yes u'll go to the loo a lot) and try over the counter effervesant sachets like "Ural" it'll neutralize the acidity as well.

Re: Pain!!

^^^^ just abt to say the same thing...dont panic--drink plenty of cranberry juice:)

Re: Pain!!

thrush maybe?

Re: Pain!!

you need antibiotics- theres one that cuts down the pain almost instantly, but it turns your pee bright orange temporarily. and then theres one that kills the infection, and thats a three day dose (1 per day).
cranberry juice only helps to prevent it, once you've got it, its not going to go away without meds.

I am no doctor but....yes when a UTI (if it's a UTI) get's to the point where it becomes painful to urinate then it can become serious if left untreated. If untreated it can lead to kidney infections which can do some major damage to the kidneys.

Just go to the doctor...they will give you some antibiotics to clear the infection. The earlier treated the better.

cranberry juice may prevent one from getting UTI's but it wont clear the infection once a person has it. Only antibiotics will rid of the bacteria at that point. Especially in the case of a person who is feeling pain while urinating.

Re: Pain!!

Hey girls, so should we take cranberry juice everyday to prevent UTIs from occuring? Does it taste very nasty, is white cranberry juice also fine or does it have to be the red one

Re: Pain!!

Ok I was reading that site Ask posted and it said this about preventing them:

[QUOTE]

Doctors suggest some additional steps that a woman can take on her own to avoid an infection:

  • Drink plenty of water every day. Some doctors suggest drinking cranberry juice, which in large amounts inhibits the growth of some bacteria by acidifying the urine. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) supplements have the same effect.
  • Urinate when you feel the need; don't resist the urge to urinate.
  • Wipe from front to back to prevent bacteria around the anus from entering the vagina or urethra.
  • Take showers instead of tub baths.
  • Cleanse the genital area before sexual intercourse.
  • Empty the bladder shortly before and after sexual intercourse.
  • Avoid using feminine hygiene sprays and scented douches, which may irritate the urethra.

U wud eventually need antibiotics for sure..but the cranberry juice will help =) non-alcoholic beer is good too..

Re: Pain!!

errr and i think cranberry juice as a prevention is okay but not as a treatment.

Re: Pain!!

its nothing to b embarrased about just go to ur dctr n he/she will ask for a aurine sample n test it for infection if u do have a UTI u will b given a course of antibiotics which should clear it up
i had to have 2 courses to clear mine but i feel so much better, the pain is unbearable if left untreated n like AE said it could affect the kidneys

Re: Pain!!

Try azo.. its an OTC medication and it really helps with the pain and the infection is gone within days...
