PAF bombs terrorist hide-outs in Wazirstan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Pakistani jets pounded suspected militant hide-outs along the Afghan border Wednesday as officials said hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled South Waziristan in anticipation of an expected military offensive.

Government officials have threatened an operation in the lawless border area for months, but they said a string of recent suicide bombings blamed on the Taliban has strengthened their resolve to engage in what will likely be a long and bloody confrontation.

Military jets have been hitting suspected Taliban strongholds in the region for weeks. The airstrikes have grown more frequent in recent days in what appears to be an effort to soften up the militants ahead of a ground assault.

Intelligence officials, however, said the bombs hit a suspected militant hide-out, killing eight insurgents. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

The article says nearly half of the Wazirstan population has fled in expectation of a military offensive. My question is: are terrorists among them? The intention for an offensive was announced months ago. How many terrorists would be left now? If some of them have fled, which general areas do you think they are hiding at and what are the odds of capturing them in their new hiding places?

^ most of that would be classified information

and I am sure Pak army must have taken all necessary steps to ensure safety of innocent civilians, while delivering a crippling blow to these animals, and our Jawans must be thinking 10 steps ahead of their enemy about how where and what to do.

Leave it to the experts, instead of trying to speculate which might give rise to rumors or negative propaganda.

I sure hope that if some of them have fled that they would go back to afghanistan or india and other places that they came from

Every day the taleban are killing soldiers in SWA, maybe the military victory claimed was false or the good taleban of Maulvi Nazir are killing them.
