Share some sad stories about products leaking in your luggage 
What got ruined? Were you bothered? I’m going on holiday and will be packing soon. Hence, I decided to open up this thread

well i’ve been diagnosed with POAOF by my family.
That’s Packing Obsession And Organizational Freak . Cuz i pack very systematically and hate , and i mean hate anyone messing with it ,

(yes we follow this routine no matter how many years we have been packing for and she only repacks after I’ve done the packing,she wont start the packing! .Agghh.)
- Sheet ( i know but still)
- any thick clothing ,jackets line the floor
3.heavy dinner formal wear cuz i dont need to reach for it. - vertically casual pants (sub divided into access and formal to casual).
5.horizontally tops, tunics,kameezes .
6.the spaces on the corners sides get lined with shoes ,slippers sandals. where each pair is usually packed separately so that they don’t squish and ruin my heels. (it’s happened). - makeup and other toiletries are fitted into nooks. perfumes are wrapped in bags then in towels or some heavy cloth to keep them from smashing when the airport guys keep throwing them on the belt ,specially if u have a lot of lay overs. shampoo etc follows the same kind of plac e.
P.s don’t take nail cutters or any such sharp object as it will not be allowed to carry on so make sure to pack it.
again u dont have to be so freakish about packing .I have a cuz who just rolls all the shirts pants everything and her entire packed suitcase looks like an assortment of colours. rolled up.I would hate ironing such stuff cuz no matter how well u pack u usually have to iron out the wrinkles/fold lines. neways to each their own.

I had nail polish remover leak over my clothes which ruined the color. I have had perfume leak but nothing drastic that my stuff was dripping wet. I tend to have one bag just for makeup and beauty products and if it's a flight-type of travel I tape the tops of all bottles/creams/perfumes so they dont leak. And then I place them in a plastic cosmetic bag, you can use a plastic shopping bag too.

Anything that's liquid (whether its on my carry on or checked in bag)....I always put in a ziplock or plastic bag. Then I also wrap a towel around it....hoping that IF it does get out...the towel will prevent it from getting on anything else.
I once had a nail polish leak inside my purse. I still use but one of the inside pockets is bright pink.

That towel idea is great, I think I'll do that next time I'm going to Pakistan or something.

my nana was going to pak in this ramadan he had dates in his bag somehow shampoo got leak over khajoors and all ruined up ... u can imagine shampoo wali dates ... my papa always do that towel and plastic wrap thing

PLASTIC + TAPE + REPEAT PROCEDURE !!
I first tape the bottles ( like shampoo / or any make up liquids ) directly then wrap them in plastic and tape it again !! No leakage ever !!!
Double plastic bags and tape for everything !!!! Never had a problem!! I even brought fresh home made ghee with me once , my aunt made the ghee, packed in plastic bottles, I froze them for 2 days before travelling and used a whole lots plastic and tape !!!

i tape the tops of everything that’s leakable so no leaks as yet.. except my purse my son put his bottle in it without telling me ofcourse without a lid soo my wallet and everything else got wet and smelled like milk ..

i taped all my leakables wrapped it up ina cloth .. n zipped it up ina wash bag .. gudd thing nuthin leaked

I always put items that could leak in a couple of plastic bags each. I once took a glass bottle of perfume to Pakistan and wrapped it in bubble wrap and then taped it. So far Alhamdulillah i havent had anything leak anywhere in my luggage bags.

i never had anything leak as i always pack things with potential of leaking separately with tape and ziplock 'em. recently i got married and i had all my things organized and packed, as i was flying out the next day to the my susral for walima. everything was good, except for a wretched red nailpolish. somehow that nail polish ended up in my jewelry case and it leaked all over it. nail polish remover took care of most of the things but a couple of my pieces are ruined for good. ugh.

I was being reckless this past trip and just had bottles of shampoos, lotions etc just put in the suitcase like that. Hubs saw it and was terrified. He made me put everything in plastic baggies and good thing he did. One foundation bottle broke and thank God it was in a plastic bag warna all the other stuff would have gotten messed up. My mom would have actually put tape around the bottles mouth but i am too lazy.

i wrap them in plastic and the wrap them in a towel.
my husband even wraps chocolate in carrier bags and then in towels in case they melt.-which the billion times ive travelled with him, NEVER HAVE.

I ALSO have a habit, a bad one, of taking ALLLLLLL my cosmetics with me, WHEREVER I GO, and i only end up using one or 2 products....dont know why but in 2 weeks im going again, and im still packing ALL my stuff, even though i know i wont even use it all. and im thinking about buying more of the same produicts, incase i run out of them, EVEN THOUGH i know i wont even finish using the first pot. lol.
