Hi,
Best way to pack the jehaiz clothes?..shoes?..bedsheets?..makeup?..and whatever else that is taken in jehaiz..
also, approx how many suitcases?
Any of you pack a separate night bag for the first night?
And when is all this stuff shifted to the new place?
you know i wonder the same thing!!!!
how are u suppose to pack everything in your room
my fiance and i live only a hour away so im going to take some of my
stuff not everythign and probably right after i get my furniture ? i dont kno how to do
Well i kind of gave some pre-marriage clothes to charity that i wasnt going to wear...
Other than that, some of my clothes and shoes were bought to my husbands place slowly when we made trips back to my parents. On the wedding day, i had 4 suitcases with my clothes, shoes and jewellery which were bought in our wedding car. For the wedding night, i had packed a lil suitcase which consisted of my normal day to day makeup, clothes and sandals and bits n bobs that i would need - basically what you would take for your holiday. We spent the first 2 nights in a hotel and i hadnt packed a nail polish remover so went shopping the next day to buy that amongst other things!
Ladies, dont take too much. Also, out of the 4 suitcases, i had packed one with stuff for the honeymoon! I was prepared and didnt want to waste time packing infront of my husband - just wanted to spend some time with him instead - Alhumdullilah.
hmm usually people have a lot of luggage to take over, i mean from what i saw my cousins bought everythign brand new before they got married from straighetining irons, curling irons, ipods, their shoes, chooriyan, clothes, makeup, beauty cases, so all this went in 3 suitcases. and one nightbag for the first night. and the stuff was either taken a day before in one case or delivered after the valima in another case. in the first case the in laws actually called and drove by before hand so once she went to the house her luggage was already in the corner of a her room awaiting her i think this is more convenient.
^thats weird. Why cant you buy stuff over a period of time?? why spend so much money all at once, getting married does not mean you have to buy EVERYTHING "brand new" haha..seriously!!

well she had a lot younger sisters so she left her old stuff there with them and got brand new for herself. hehehe
usually... wen it come to luggage i've seen people send their stuff over before hand...
girls side gets new furniture etc. for the new couple and that is usually sent before as well...
i kno from my cousins and friends weddings..they had their sisters and family move the things into their soon to be homes and decorate it all up for them.
hi fairyfairry, u got some details above, but what i want to give an idea is to pack all of ur unstiched clothes in polythene bags, while the partywear clothes u r going to wear in the very first week, have them press & hang them on hangers & put long transparent polythene bags above them so they wont get dust & dirt, arrange ur suitcases too, & what i'm goin to do on my wedding is to arrange some nice pretty gifts, vanity things etc in nice cute Cane baskets & tie organza ribbon aroung them, just for decoration, & will buy few box of same print but different sizes & shapes, & will keep my bangles ,artificial jewelleries etc in them.. there r many other ideas u can do, luggage matters if u have to travel abroad after marriage.
good luck!
I know, I keep getting told to pack..I have like 30 days left in the house and have 2 wardrobes full of clothes along with a chest of draws and 2 big suitcases in the loft full too....imagine packing that!
i hvnt even started packing- i have jus over 30 days to go, i dont no wot im meant to do, i bought 3 suitcases & have started to put my new jore in there, but thats it, thing is i dont even want to pack, i mean its still my house & im only moving 10mins away so thats more storage space?
I think one should start packing well in advance before the wedding, or as and when u have things ready to get packed....this way you get more time to pamper urself (nothing could be of more importance than that esp a few weeks before the event). I know of a friend's wedding where she kept delaying it till just before her mehndi event!!
I'd get everything done and packed weeks in advance! I even want my sister to go and place my things in the "new" house so I can do NOTHING for a change! And girls please don't forget hairspray, brushes, safety pins, hair pins, makeup remover, toothbrushes, nailpolish remover, shower gel etc! LOL Guys wud never think of these things..
