3.how to pack clothes, household cleaning things ?
I think you should be able to do everything in 3 days or less.
Pack kichen things and other things on the last day, Keep a small box for things like bathroom supplies, kitchen supplies so that once you actually move, you can easily pullout whatever you need right away.
Im sure you have closets in your new apartment, put them there, if not, but a bedroom chest or large set of drawers for all these things.
I would just get a big garbage bag and throw all your clothing in it. You can also use ur clothing to help package fragile items like plates, and vases.
For cleaning items just get a box.
All in all get boxes, use a marker to mark what eachone is for, Kitchen items, living room items…
Newspapers also work great to pack dishes or fragile items. Roll your glassware or cups/mugs in a newspaper like some people do their glass bangles & then stack them on top of each other in a box. Mark the boxes. Fragile & “Handle with care”
Also mark all your moving boxes by their rooms. So when you guys move, you simply place the respective box in its designated room. It saves so much time later on.
Buy mattress covers from a moving supply store. They come in all sizes, don’t cost much & prevent mattresses & their boxes from getting dirty or torn.
Get “Mover’s wrap” or the stretchy plastic tape/cover & wrap all your furniture with it. It will protect your furniture from getting scratched or nicked during moving.
Store all nuts & bolts from the TV/media hook ups or any furniture that’s unassembled in zip loc bags & label them so you don’t lose them.
Most of all do not forget to keep the toilet paper, paper towel & hand wash soap in an open box. These are going to be first three things you will need immediately after moving in to the new place.
Just finished moving and I packed all of my fancy dishes and big pots that are not really needed first. Basically everything in the house not really needed for practical use like extra. clothing, extra dishes, extra toiletries and extra everything else packed in boxes with labels. You have to commit to living uncomfortably for a couple of days or till the November Start early because even if it doesn’t seem like its a lot, stuff ends up coming out of somewhere and you will risk leaving things behind if your rushed. I packed all of our clothes on their hangers in boxes because it’s so much easier to unpack and directly hang them in the closets. Put all related items in one box and label everythibggggg. I couldn’t find my Shaan masalas for days because I packed those on a rush and didn’t label last few things. Pack everything in your bathroom except for what you use everyday. If you don’t have any partys, pack all your formal wear. All that heavy stuff start sooner than later.
How to store extra things like towels, bedsheets etc in apartment .can I put all these in a plastic Bin bag and place under bed? Actually I live near sea so sometimes here fungus and all can come on these things and smell also.
If you’re really short on space, store your extra bedding in vacuum bags. They usually attach to a vacuum cleaner that sucks all the air out. It’s magical how little space the bags take. You can store them under the bed, plus they won’t catch any odors because they are sealed.
