Two weeks ago I signed up for packet8 phone service (Couldn’t get in Canada, so got here in Minnesota). I think this is the cheapest service I have ever got. For $20/month I get:
Unlimited calling State-to-State plus anywhere in Canada for free.
Free Caller ID, 3-way conference, call waiting, voicemail, Call Forwarding and much more.
25 cents/min for Pakistan, and 2 cents/min for London UK
Yes this is true, and its been there for the past 5 years.
Its called VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol. Remember when people would use internet connection to call. This is exactly like that, but it goes through high speed internet (broadband internet). But now the only difference is you don’t have to connect through computer but your existing phone set.
The only draw back of this service is that if your cable or dsl connection goes down, that means no phone calls, and also no 911.
