Pack n Play / Playard advice

For our 3rd baby we are thinking to get a Pack N Play to keep baby with us in our room for the 1st 3-4 months and then moving her into crib in her room. We would have just moved the crib into our room but it doesn’t fit through the door and we don’t want to bother with breaking it apart again and again. Please recommend which pack n plays are good. have been reading online reviews and getting confused with information overload.

What feature do you consider necessary on the pack n play. Apparently the higher end ones like this are nice but perhaps a bit much?
Graco Pack 'n Play with Cuddle Cove LX Rocking Seat Play Yard - Brompton - Graco - Babies “R” Us

I am trying to figure out if I really need a removable rocking baby napper that perhaps just lasts 3-4 months anyways. Are the attached changing tables good?

I am hoping to make a purchase this weekend or next at Buy Buy Baby or Babies r US. PS> I am 31 weeks along, sigh I want it to be over.

Thanks

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

i would recommend Graco…just go with the basic one without all the “frills” that add on significant cost. you won’t really use the newborn napper or diaper changing table much.

Graco Pack 'n Play On The Go Travel Play Yard - Harlow - Graco - Babies “R” Us

the pack and play was by far the best and most used baby item we purchased…and it wasn’t even one we considered! i happened to find a brand new one in box on clearance at Sears for $19.99 (was last season print/design) and since then my daughter uses it more than she ever used her crib. she is a toddler now and still sleeps in it, alh :).

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

also, i would check out amazon.com for the free delivery (considering you are so far along!)

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

I don’t have graco but the pack n play is an amazing thing to have with a new born, the bassinet/changing table is very useful

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

Nabz - you got very lucky with the price on the pack n play. Even the basic ones are $100 and I don’t have energy to shop around clearance items. I plan to go pick one out tomorrow Inshallah at Babies R Us. It does make sense not to get the newborn napper, since it seems baby will outgrow it soon. However they are awfully cute and cool.

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

I HIGHLY recommend the Graco and like nabz said, just get the basic Pack n Play, you will NOT use the diaper changing station or the rocker or the various attachments. For me, I found the diaper changing part annoying because it’s too low and it hurt my back bending over to change the diaper, we found ourselves changing diapers right on the floor.

I also recommend the Graco brand over others, I’ve had experience with other brands and their mechanisms and action is not NEARLY as smooth and effortless as the Graco. I LOVED the Graco.

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

We decided to skip crib and use Chicco Lullaby LX for our son. My son is 8 months old and I have no complains. It’s very easy to move around and my son loves it.we are happy with our decision.

Re: Pack n Play / Playard advice

Pack and play is really recommended. Go for the simple one.

Safety 1st Lux Travel Playard - Laguna - Safety 1st - Babies"R"Us

thats the one that we bought, and we got a reallly good price on it.
the reason we picked this one is that the padding on the inside is VERY SOFT and you want to make sure of that esp if you are using it for baby to sleep in. we bought it to keep it downstairs in our family room - and bought a bassinet for his room upstairs.
