Time To Play Cowboys And Muslims?

You’ve probably received the following joke in your email box as it makes its way around the internet:

There were three men sitting
on a bench, one was a Texan
wearing a cowboy hat, one was a
Muslim wearing a turban, and
the last fellow was an Apache
with a feather in his hair.

The Indian was sad and gloomy as he
said, “My people were many, but
now we are few.”

The Muslim puffs up and said,
“Once my people were few, but
now we are many.”

The Texan adjusts his hat, rolls
a smoke, leans back and drawls
out, “That’s because we ain’t
played Cowboys and Muslims yet.”

Sadly, this “politically-incorrect” joke may ultimately be closer to the truth than many would like to admit. There’s certainly some truth to it, thus its widespread popularity amongst Americans, particularly as the war on terror continues. Remember, we did not seek out this “holy war”. Rather, it was brought to us on a clear September morning in 2001. Prior to 9/11, most Americans had no real issue or concern with the Muslim world. However, it’s become quite apparent that the Muslim world has issues with us…

..

Just the other night I witnessed a disturbing news report from England. Muslims in England were proudly burning the Union Jack and calling for repercussions versus our ally. Now, I would suspect some Brits might take offense at that and deal with these people in some form or fashion, but if groups like that were to show themselves in America…Oh boy, it’d be tar and feather time! Here in America we are offered a rare glimpse into the mindset of the American Muslim. If one were to visit the CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) website, they’d read a front-page statement condemning the mutilation of the bodies of the Fallujah Four. Nowhere do they condemn the actual murder of these four civilians. If the Muslim population in this country continues to allow groups like CAIR to speak for them, then there can be little doubt whose side they are on.

Ultimately, that is up to moderate Muslims to decide. It is up to them to reign in the extremists who hide amongst them. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to deal with them as a whole. We do not have the ability nor the means to sort the good from the bad. If America is attacked again, if Muslims around the globe continue to answer the call to jihad, then sadly, we will have few choices. The Muslim population in this country will likely be forced into detention camps or deported, as these methods will be the only means to protect them and ourselves from each other. The future of Islam depends on the Muslim population. If they want a holy war, we will ultimately be forced to give them what they want. Or, as our tall Texan would say, “Don’t mess with the bull…you’ll get the horns”.
