It is similar to a film which had Eddie Murphy and a Tibetan boy.
Here they have replaced Eddie Murphy with John Abraham and a Sikkimese (or Ladakh ) boy.
Music is good (by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan). This movie was shown at Karachi film festival.
where/when was the karachi film festival and how can one find out about future events?
thanks

Meenaxi by M. F. Hussain *ing, Tabu, Kunal Kapoor
Meenaxi: A master’s stroke

TIMESOFINDIA.COM FRIDAY, APRIL 02, 2004 09:21:44 PM ]
Asking for a conventional plot in this languid, lyrical indulgence is akin to wanting to move on when you are already at a breathtaking place.
Film: Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities
Director: M F Husain
Cast: Tabu, Raghubir Yadav, Kunnal Kapoor
Rating: 31/2
Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities
Trust M F Husain to use his imaginative eye to elevate kitsch to art and transform the most mundane into the breathtakingly beautiful. If his earlier Gaja Gamini bordered on the abstract, in Meenaxi , Husain uses his talent to weave pure imagination with symbolism to create a magical romance.
Husain’s new muse Meenaxi (Tabu) is an itr-selling pushy Hyderabadi woman who wants the famed writer Nawab (Raghubir Yadav) to write his next book on her.
As Nawab puts pen to paper, the garrulous, unpolished perfume-seller is transported to Jaisalmer, where she comes into form as a composed, enigmatic woman.
Nawab’s flute-playing motor mechanic Kunal becomes the moony-eyed Kameshwar, who is instantly struck by the mysterious Meenaxi as he arrives on a camel into the sun-dried desert land.
The happy colours and moving windmills of Jaisalmer form the perfect backdrop to a flowering romance between the curly-haired, dreamy young man who wears crisp sherwanis over crushed linen pants and the waiting-to-be-swayed mystifying gorgeous woman.
thanks imran . sounds like a fab not to be missed movie.
Do you recommend it for family viewing ? ahem … you know what i mean…![]()
Re: Paap
I have seen the movie, really a stupid one. That John guy really needs to get some acting classes. His cries, scream my goodness…a donkey can do a better job.
Yes there is a raunchy clip in it, very stupid that same John guy…no emotions nothing just stupid. A Hollywood C grade porn will do it, if you are interested in raunchiness.
I’m interested in watching it as well Aysh but I’ve heard it has a few swimming pool/kissing scenes in it. So I seriously doubt if it is for family viewing
Most art house films are not.
interesting... i guess i'll be watching it alone.... i loved the music though
sadzzz, if you think you might be disturbed by it watching it alone then I might volunteer to sit through it with you.
^ hehe id prob be more embarrassed
sadzzz, even if I close my eyes?
