Great one Jhoom:k:

**Have a read:

The original oxymoron is “sweet and sour” (the Greek elements are: ‘oxy’ = acid, sharp and ‘moron’ = sweet, soft) – nowadays “bittersweet” is perhaps the most common example, describing something that gives us pleasure but also has elements of sadness, regret or disappointment. An oxymoron is therefore a phrase usually involving two terms that seem to be contradictory or paradoxical but are both true. It should be distinguished from “a contradiction in terms” which means that one term or the other is likely to be untrue, that one term logically excludes the other one (the classic joke is “military intelligence”), however people often use the term “oxymoron” for a “contradiction in terms”.

**Examples are:

A fine mess
A Just war
Bad Health
Bad Luck
Calculated error
Calculated risk**

There is a long list of these commonly used oxymoronic words.
Some words listed above or on wiki are not even used...just made up. :)

Re: oxymoron? a women of few words ?

:no:ain’t nothing oxymoronic about a woman of few words. talking too much gives me a headache anyways.

atleast women talk things out. other than the gossiping broads, which can be irritating, talking things out can be a great way of relieving stress.

Some men just keep all the stress and thoughts in that are bothering them and then one fine day they just explode with anger and emotions. it’s sad really poor chaps :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: oxymoron? a women of few words ?

blah blah :stuck_out_tongue: see how much men talk :vivo:

Re: oxymoron? a women of few words ?

pretty ugly
alone together
living dead
old news
good grief (although I like saying this)
criminal justice
original copies
