Oxford Brookes Uni: Good? Rep?

It is cheap for me to pursue an MA here, comaped to London that is.

Is the place any good? Is its Rep good?

Do employers care abt it?

Oxford brookes is a very new university. It used to be Oxford college of further education a few years ago. With regards to employment, depends on the course you want to do. For a specific course, look at the ratings of that course. For a more general course, don't bother going there & go somewhere else.

It's the ex-polytechnic in Oxford; now the "other university" there.

To be fair, it's actually one of the best, if not actually the best, performing ex-poly, but at the end of the day, it is still an ex-poly. If possible, you would be better off doing a Masters at one of the longer-established universities around with a better rep.

once i met this guy who went to the same sixthform as mine, so iasked him wat uni he was at, he goes oxford (with a wide smile) and i was like :eek: .. khair i told him how happy i was keh he got into the top uni, he just smiled back (yeah that wide open mouthed smile)..

i got home and while having a gossip session i go to my mate ooh milap goes to oxford for a while she lead me on sayin oh really how do u know bla bla.. then she burst out laughing sayin he goes to oxford brookes not oxford uni :bummer:

i was soo :grumpy: i got his number from her and had a go at him all he had to say was ‘ooh i couldnt be bothered to add brookes’ :grumpy:

btw i know off topic.. but still :o

^^ Funny... but the same thing goes for a few folks who study at HOWARD University but would embellish that through their conscious mispronunciation.

The Guardian has it ranked 26th in the UK.

Thats pretty high out of 104 schools.
