I’m sure this has been discussed before but I tried searching and found nothing.
My brothers want to get a dog. To tell you the truth, I want one too, after seeing a friend’s mini Pomeranian. (it’s palm-sized)
Please share your opinions.
I love dogs man. my bro got a beaglle and he’s so freakin funny. i swear, Spock (the dog) thinks of himself as a human, and not as a dog. He’s such a fatass that no one can pick him up, except my bro. My bro will carry him around like a lil baby 
My parents love the dog too, but I think only as a substitute until real grandkids come along lol.
Okay as for whether it’s allowed or not, i’m pretty sure, dogs cannot be kept as housepets. I.e., one cannot let the dog roam around the house freely or kiss them on the lips (gross i know but some ppl do it ugh! :yukh: ) After you even pet the dog, you have to wash your hands, and if the dog comes in contact with your clothes, you must change all your clothes in order for your namaz to be accepted. It’s becoz dogs are, by nature, filthy animals. I love em, but they can be really gross. They lick their own butts, sniff other dogs craps, they bring their dirty feet and butts to the house and pretty much make everything unclean.
Of course, u can keep a dog as a guarddog or watchdog or watever you wanna call it. but it doesn’t give you license to act cruel towards it. You must take care of it, feed it, not go around beating it, etc.
Dogs drive the angels away from the residence.
according to shariat, we can keep guard dogs to protect the house from intruders etc but not keep them as pets!!! y don’t u guys get a cat, prophet Mohammad :saw:] had a cat named muezza.
