Another option to track ovulation is a saliva fertility monitor. They look like a small single-eyed binocular, its actually a small microscope. When you’re fertile, your saliva will take on a “ferning” pattern. These are supposedly very accurate if you follow directions explicitly.
They cost about 30 dollars and it can be used as often as you’d like.
hey ladies, ovulation predictors can get cheap ones from ebay they are good to juse through ur cycle, use the expensive ones closer to the day/s close to ur ovulation which is usually in the middle of ur cycle. also do it first thing in the morning as ur urine is concentrated therefore hormone levels are easy to detect.
some ladies notice a slight pain discomfort in the ovaries prior to ovulation. i never used to really feel anything but i tried to notice any weird pulls and slight aches and managed to pinpoint when i was ovulating a few times and used the expensive test which showed i was ovulating. the funny thing is it was day 9 of my cycle rather then 14 , so some females ovulate right after their period finishes! the body is a strange thing so all i can say soon as ur menstruation ends start tring straight away coz u dont know when ur gonna ovulate. sometimes during menstuation if u cramp to hard u can pop a egg out hence why ovulation can occur early . in fact some women ovulate more then once a month!
good luck ladies keep trying and so will I , all in Allahs hands . dont give up trying and keep posting as its nice to see others who understand.
so my period is 8 days long always and ended last thursday. today i'm having brown discharge- its gel-like and only when i wipe, it isn't coming through otherwise. also the discharge is brown, but when i do wipe, there is more watery stuff and its pale pink. i was reading about ovulation spotting and it seems to fit the bill but i haven't noticed any changes to my discharge- up until yesterday it was very creamy and thick, not at all egg-white like. in the past, my discharge has changed around the 14-16 day mark and today is day 13 so i guess that makes sense...
did any of you ladies who conceived successfully have ovulation discharge? i don't know if i should be concerned or not :(
SGC, like Sahar said a bit early for implatation bleeding but everyone is different so could be.
I don't know how long you've been trying for but if it's long enough, have you gotten tested for PCOS or hormonal imbalance? sometimes this can also cause weird bleeding patterns.
^ its definitely not implantation bleeding unless its immaculate conception :p
i think it might ovulation bleeding though because even though its greater than what is described, this morning, there was definitely the egg-white consistency/appearance to the discharge in addition to the other stuff. i've been exhausted today though- i had to miss work because i woke up dizzy and headachy and super, super tired. i slept till 1 but i'm still not fully myself. i think a doctor's visit is in order at this point.
masi m, my doctor hasn't said anything in past visits about pcos - is there a special test for it?
well I was diagnosed after an ultrasound, the cysts were quite visible and it was confirmed after a hormonal profile(set of tests) But if your doc has not mentioned it then hopefully it's not the case, inshALlah.. just relax and let things take their course.. If you still haven't bought an ovulation prediction kit, just try to meet every other day(though this formula may not work for everyone) but if everything else is fine the sperm shouldn't miss the egg this way. Also contrary to popular perception meeting everyday doesn't help either as the sperm count gets lower than needed.
it stopped. just like that. lasted for two days and when i woke up this morning, it was done.
so i'm thinking it might actually have been ovulation bleeding although it was a lot heavier than what i've read online...
and i remembered it happened a few months ago too... so assuming i'm right, now my question is, the months it hasn't happened, does that mean i haven't been ovulating hence all the timed bits o' fun have all been for nothing? gah! too much emotional investment! i'm drained.
i spoke too soon. it started up again at work and the lower ab pain was worse so i went off to see my doc. she did an internal exam right then and said i'm bleeding from my cervix. her thought is either i miscarried* very early (around 2-2.5 weeks) or i have uterine polyps. neither one is a pleasant thing to think of so i'm trying not to think of them! i had bloodwork done today and have an ultrasound tomorrow so we'll see what turns up.
*i didn't realise you could get your period while pregnant, but apparently it can happen and be pretty light, and as it happens, the last period i had was unusually light. sooo... yeah. not thinking about it, not thinking about it...
