One day, after interval time, I headed towards the library, while meditating; there would be “Quran”** for quoting a quick reference. I strated looking for it, through the catalogue, and then in the shelves of religious section but all in vain. Kerry, the librarian, asked me, **
**“Can I help you please”. I replied, “No thanks, just looking for a book”. **
I refrained from inquiring her. I was wondering, where it would be? I expected it should be lying at any shelf, assuming nobody needed it, and finally, drew the conclusion that they did not possess “Quran” in this school. Hopelessly, when I decided to leave, Kerry placed a piece of paper before me and requested, **
“Could you read this word for me, it’s a name of a book that is two months overdue, I’ve to deliver it to Mr. John”.
** When I looked at the word, initially, I seemed speechless and pale, avoided her glance at my face, but I controlled myself, soon was overwhelmed by the joy of this unexpected help. It was “Quran” written on the reminder slip.
**“I’m going towards his department, I can deliver it on your behalf, if you are happy with this”, I offered her a generous help, inclined to my curiosity. She seemed delighted, and passed it on to me, I headed towards his department, pondering why it was two months overdue. As I entered into his department, saw him sitting in his classroom, preparing the resources for next period, during free time. He welcomed me, with a nice smile, **
“Good morning! How are you, Miss Consent”?
I replied, “I’m fine, thank you, Mr. John. What about yourself?, Kerry has given me this reminder slip for you”.
I placed the slip on his table. He looked at it.
“Oh, yes, but it’s at home”, he informed me.
" So, you are reading “Quran”, I initiated the conversation.
“Its great book, me and my wife use to read it for seeking guidance to live our lives, we should know about Islam, we have Muslim prayer matt and also some pictures of the mosques are displayed on our walls. We can discuss about it someday at lunch time”. Eventually, he unveiled the secret to relieve my burdened soul.
“Sure, I’ll look forward to it, I’ve class now, see you around”, I bade him farewell, and left the department with solace, while contemplating, its going to be more over due as he had solemn pledge not to bring it back. That was proved true for next six months.
