Over sensationalizing or speaking from experience?

The successful election bid of Donald Trump President-Elect has stunned many people across the world, but most importantly it has taken a lot of Americans by surprise who were almost certain that he would never make it to Presidency. Examples of this presumed certainty can be found even within discussion here that took place on the topic. So, while the shock may take some time to subside, it has become a fact that Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as the new President of U.S.A. in a few weeks.

The rub lies in the constant stream of reports coming out of what a terrible thing it will be for Donald J. Trump to be the President of U.S.A. While his campaign was certainly full of all spectrums of the colorful language gauge, it has yet to be seen how he will now act as President. It is hoped that he is given a fair chance just as any other President who would have been elected. However, now addressing the very title of this discussion, why is there such a sense of fear as if Hitler himself was resurrected in the form of Donald Trump? We must realize that he is one person with certain power the constitution bestows upon him in his capacity; however, there are 2 other branches of the Government structure that are in place to ensure checks and balances. It is the system of checks and balances that has been a crucial component of American governance since independence from Britain.

It is rather hoped, and logical to think that he will need to make compromises to get things done and his hardline rhetoric may remain just rhetoric because parts of it cannot be in the same spirit as the Constitution. There is unlikely to be Gestapo snatching up Muslims from the street of America or anyone who disagrees with the President. While Donald J. Trump in his personal capacity may have the pettiness to resort to such measures, the President of the nation will not have that sort of a luxury because of the complexity of the system and the vast size of the government machinery.

We must abandon despair, and if possible, become active in our respective communities to unite people and work for the betterment of each other; that will be far more conducive than giving into all the doom and gloom. Specifically, we the Muslims, have throughout history been tested with difficulties much harsher. The life of our beloved Prophet (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) is an excellent example of endurance, perseverance, and overcoming all challenges of life. Difficulties should be welcome, and seen as a chance to become stronger internally, and a chance to display the goodness that comes with being a Pakistan and a muslim.

The second part of the title, assuming a tragedy has been struck, on what assumption are we seeing the outrage of Trump’s election? We can’t say he’s another Republican in the office and the ever-so-frightening prospect of Bush years come to mind, because he has upset the establishment altogether including Republican party members, many of whom he’ll have to contend with in Congress to pass laws. So where is this sense of fear coming from?

Please remain civil, and share objectively.

Re: Over sensationalizing or speaking from experience?

American policies don’t based on wishes of individual person .. but as whole on national interests…
POTUS… is most powerful person… He can approve or disapprove law made by congress… but other branches of government are there for reason.. strong check and balance… :k:
In order to run his office he needs to collaborate with congress and senate…
Judicial System is quite independent but he has powers to appoint judges… but law is not blind…
He can not make law based on religion or build wall on mexico border…
Every new law or amendment in existing law will go through rigorous process… As Republican themselves reject him and his rhetoric ..

The Venom he spread against minority during campaign was painful.. It would hurt communities… That will be challenge for his administration..

kanton ki fisal bo kar uska katna kitna dushwar hoga… yeh to anay walay dino main hi pata chaly ga

Re: Over sensationalizing or speaking from experience?

This elections has polarized people never seen in the history of US elections. It is hoped that new president will behave sanely and will abandon some of his most controversial rants. Sometimes I wonder what is the difference between Taliban and people living here. It is a 100% male dominant society playing diplomatically when equality of women they talk about. People were also not happy about Obama’s health care system. They followed “ People who entrust their affairs to a woman will never prosper.” …Ref Imam Abu Hurera “Women in Islam”

Gregg Popovich on the election of Donald Trump: ‘We are Rome’

Re: Over sensationalizing or speaking from experience?

it doesn’t matter, people need to accept the fact that he won, and stop the sensationalizing of his remarks.

Adding fuel to fire is what people/media do these days, and dumb people go and protest and create havoc. Very stupid behaviour of people in usa these days.

What happened to the rights and tolerance and all that crap they like to teach other countries?

Re: Over sensationalizing or speaking from experience?

Quite simply the Democratic party of Clinton and Obama has been a GREED driven Machine.

Starting out with NAFTA, Bill Clinton forced “free trade” upon the party.

Around the globe, these deals are a key tool to drive down wages, exploit workers and prosecute global class warfare. But, the current president still serves up the malarkey about the benefits of these deals.

No Democratic president was more focused on letting business interests off the leash.

He gave more power to media companies, triggering consolidation and a powerful wave of concentration of the media into a few hands.

The average person, not steeped in policy, understood this every time he or she opened their skyrocketing cable bills.

Hand-in-glove with Wall Street, Clinton got rid of the Glass Steagall Act, which removed the separation between commercial banks, insurers and investment banks,
allowing the self-dealing manipulation of mortgages and interest rates and accelerating the shifting of huge wealth into the hands of a few.

Again, the average person, just trying to make ends meet, eventually got the sharpest end of that spear when millions of people lost their homes,
jobs and retirement in the thundering collapse known as the Great Recession, which, for many, has been a depression.

Feeding off the Clinton machine, the Democratic Party has become riddled with lobbyists, billionaires, and hustlers who pocket huge sums of money by running either nonprofit “think tanks” or election-cycle networks, and politicians who, indeed, are focused mostly on reelection. Surrounding the party are extremely well-paid non-profit leaders, who end up defending the status quo.

Chief component of the Clinton machine in recent years, the Clinton Foundation operated somewhat out of sight.

The big donations streaming from anti-union powerhouses like Wal-Mart or big financial entities like Bank of America not only whitewashed the policies of interests directly opposed to what the Democratic Party should stand for, but they also clouded the deeper systemic crisis within the party. We can only address climate change, poverty and global inequality by axing the very system benefiting many of the donors to the Clinton Foundation.

Median family income is lower now than it was 16 years ago, adjusted for inflation. Workers without college degrees—the old working class—have fallen furthest. Most economic gains, meanwhile, have gone to top. These gains have translated into political power to elicit bank bailouts, corporate subsidies, special tax loopholes, favorable trade deals and increasing market power without interference by anti-monopoly enforcement—all of which have further reduced wages and pulled up profits.

Wealth, power and crony capitalism fit together. Americans know a takeover has occurred, and they blame the establishment for it.

The Democratic Party once represented the working class. But over the last three decades, the party has been taken over by Washington-based fundraisers, bundlers, analysts and pollsters who have focused instead on raising campaign money from corporate and Wall Street executives and getting votes from upper-middle-class households in “swing” suburbs.

Democrats have occupied the White House for 16 of the last 24 years, and for four of those years had control of both houses of Congress. But in that time they failed to reverse the decline in working-class wages and economic security. Both Bill Clinton and Obama ardently pushed for free trade agreements without providing millions of blue-collar workers who thereby lost their jobs means of getting new ones that paid at least as well.

The Democratic Party has to be focused on grassroots America and not wealthy people attending cocktail parties!

**All them spoiled brats throwing temper tantrums on the streets of America while living on their parents hard earned wages or even Govt grants are showing how out of touch they all are of reality, but soon when they enter the job Market they will find out that their Favorite Hillary and her whole party of crooks stole their future right from under their silly noses all the while smiling and filling Her own filthy pockets!

And the loosing candidate and her followers still wonder why Trump won, and She is blaming the FBI for her loss…come on!

If that is not one delusional leader totally out of touch with the electorate! simply look at the results the Blue Collar workers abandoned her not the FBI**
