Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed [Split Discussion/Rebuttal]

I will be blunt on this sad news. All sane persons whether Sindhis or non Sindhis should be worried about this. It is easy to shade crocodile tears without any real emotions for these poor children. You should be more worried about KP where 3000 schools have been destroyed. What action PTI has taken? Do you feel that your above fake concern is bs as compared to this news?

Over 3,000 schools destroyed in militancy, disasters: official – The Express Tribune

PESHAWAR:

Terrorism, floods and earthquakes have destroyed over 3,400 schools in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) during the past few years.

This was said by K-P Education Secretary Mushtaq Jadoon while talking to media persons here on Thursday.

According to Jadoon, a total of 758 schools were destroyed by militants in different parts of the province including 640 schools in Malakand Division. Among these schools, 164 were completely destroyed, while 476 were partially damaged.

In addition to that, 36 schools in Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and other areas of the province were completely destroyed by militants, while 82 were partially damaged.

The secretary said most of the damaged schools were rehabilitated by the Pakistan Army and different non-governmental organisations (NGOs). However, the schools completely destroyed still awaiting reconstruction.

“Unfortunately when a school is rebuilt it is destroyed again by militants. However, we will not lose hope and spread education to all corners of the province,” he added.

In addition to terrorism, as many as 1,694 schools were destroyed by floods during the last two years. Among them, 160 schools were completely destructed while the remaining were partially damaged.

The government, Jadoon said, does not have enough funds to reconstruct these schools, adding that they were trying to arrange Rs2 billion from USAID for this purpose.

Moreover, the secretary said that a total of 950 schools were destroyed during the 2005 earthquake, out of which only 640 have been rehabilitated so far. “How can a province with insufficient resources bear all these burdens at the same time?” He questioned, adding that the province was “moving ahead” despite all these challenges.

The government, he explained, has allocated Rs6.7 billion for educational development in K-P in 2012-13 and it is expected that the remaining schools will be rebuilt in the coming year.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

I don’t understand when Pakistanis criticize one party, why they forget that what party they have been supporting did any good to people? Before condemning opponents they should always remember “People living in a glass houses should not…”

Back to topic, it is hoped that education department of Sindh, CM Sindh or education minister will issue some response to this really sad news. To me these seems to be ghost schools which have been closed. These ghost schools tradition was started during Zia-ul-Haq time when Junejo was PM who started five point program wasted billions of government money on schools and low income housing. The empty buildings were used as stabling of cows and buffaloes and ‘autaq (living rooms) of waderas and choudhries’. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of un-occupied houses near Muzzafargarh, not far away from Multan in the late eighties before death of dictator and firing of Junejo as PM by the dictator.

You will NEVER understand. Here below I present you info about KPK schools being rebuilt, but you belong to ‘mai na manoo’ club will find some other issue with it:

Public Credibility Helping PTI to Rebuild 28000 KP Schools

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

oh I understand very well, don’t you worry about that. These are only proposals, what IK and his bunch of idiots are capable of. They made huge conferences on energy with no practical action. What happened to them? Is there any program to rehabilitate these destroyed 3000 schools which mostly belonging to girls?

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

You have the audacity to bring in PTI and ask what have they done in a thread that talks about tragic and criminal closing down of schools in interior Sindh by PPP. Since you are only one with the divine right to talk about Sindh, shouldn't you be the one questioning what PPP has done in their decades and decades long rule in Sindh? If you can't be bother to utter a word of condemnation for PPP and ask for legal and moral accountability for the systematic and prolonged oppression and injustice they have committed against the people of Sindh, then you for one should not even the last person on God's green earth to question PTI and pretend to shed tears for people of KPK. You understand that?

But to let you out of your misery, I'd suggest you read the article even if comprehension is clearly not your greatest forte. The article clearly states schools in KPK were destroyed due to terrorism, extremism and natural disasters - (I wonder where was PPP the Federal Government when all that was happening?), but what's the excuse for PPP's criminal negligence in Sindh - the province they claim to be their private estate.

But I must confess that your political naivety is oddly ludicrous, you conveniently turn every issue a KPK vs PPP debate here while you have yet to acknowledge how and why PPP stands the slightest chance of re-birth in Punjab - the province that once gave Bhuttos their crowning glory. You just like to be erratically stubborn for heck of it, even you know that very well that they way PPP is misgoverning Sindh, they don't stand the slimmest chance to appeal to the people of Punjab or Sindh.

Whts tht new camign tameer e school i am seeing all over fb. I think sachay missed tht

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

Talk about shedding crocodile tears.

70pc of new schools in KP will be for girls

Where is your concern for Sindh and passionate criticism for PPP or you have only reserved that for PTI only? Your double standards are beyond exposed now.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

Do you thin IK and his bunch of idiots are governing well? As regard to Punjab, PTI is as failure as PPP, where as your leader has boldly claimed rigging and unfair elections in Punjab. If this is the reason of failure of PTI in Punjab same can said for PPP.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

Yes. For a newbie party which is in the government for the first time in the most troublesome province, that too with a coalition is doing fairly well in an immature and unstructured democracy. Now let me guess, you probably think the senile old blood sucking waderas of PPP who've been ruling Sindh and Pakistan respectively for decades and decades and decades have made Sindh into a land of flowing rivers of milk and honey.

It's an absolutele perfidy to mention PTI and PPP in the same sentence in regards to Punjab. PTI may not have the power in Punjab, but they certainly hold monumental influence and enormous street power, the kind of influence and street power that once belonged to PPP when Bhutto's were alive. PTI has established a larger than life momentum in Punjab which they can stir anytime. They have effectively politicised the masses. Where is PPP in all this? Bilawal Zardari is either enjoying the water rides in Dubai or tweeting from his bunkers in Karachi.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed [Split Discussion/Rebuttal]

I am with Jolie on this one.

I am Sindhi. Thatta is where my parents are from. Am I ever glad my parents' parents educated them so they could in turn educate me and my siblings. Only recently have I understood the power of education. We were told 1400 years ago to seek knowledge at all costs. The feudals of Sindh today are able to control the lives and minds of peasants by deliberately keeping them uneducated. It is 14th century Europe all over again. Feudals hold all the power and feudals run the country, all of them being politicians. It is a sad state of affairs. Sometimes I dream of a revolution that rids our society of this cancer. But there are other more civilized ways to fight this plague. It is going to be a long and difficult path.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed

Keep running from pillar to post to prove PTI as failure in 1 year comparing with about 40+ years of PPP's continued failures in Sindh, shows desperation of a man who hides his incompetence on other's mistakes/conspiracies and what not.

Re: Over 850 schools in Thatta, Sujawal closed [Split Discussion/Rebuttal]

Either title of the thread is changed to “Over 3,000 schools destroyed in militancy, disasters: official – The Express Tribune” or my name as OP be changed with Jolie who actually started this thread. I will not participate in the discussions unless this wrong be corrected. Thanks.

PPP wants Sindhis to live in darkness. One day, I hope, Sindhi population will figure it out.
