Oven ..

I am embarassed asking this , but I will coz I dont know who else to ask :snooty:

Oven is usually three functions right?
Hot Air
Oven
Grill

Can someone explain to me whats the difference between the two functions : Hot air and Oven? :konfused:

I am about to buy an oven , it says its got 6 functions but I cant seem to find out which ones :hinna: It does say it has grill and oven functions and is fan assisted , does that mean it also has the hot air function or not?

Please someone help me through :teary2:

Re: Oven ..

Our oven has grill, bake, roast and convetion oven (which i think means hot air..) I haven’t really ever heard that term before! But nowadays with tech. being so crazy…i’m sure all new ovens come with that function…but it just doesn’t specify…

I hope that made sense…then again who am I to talk…i’m the girl that combines two recipes into one…:smack: lol

Re: Oven ..

Mallika :hugz: … that helps :hinna: … I know you will be a great cook one day inshallah :@:

Re: Oven ..

mine also has broil & keep warm.........may be they are counting these into 6

Re: Oven ..

i think hot air means the same thing as ‘keep warm’. for example, before a dawat, you’ve prepared all the food, and you can keep it in the oven under hot air. that way the food will stay warm.

and read the manual missy! :smilestar: it’ll tell you everything in there.

Re: Oven ..

Hot air doesn’t meant keep warm. It is a method of cooking. Just like gas or electric ovens.

Read this CB: What Is a Hot Air Oven?

Re: Oven ..

Smiley , we are looking online for stuff , so i dont have the manual yet :frowning:

Aisha you are right , its a cooking technique as well .. coz i remember in the previous home , I used to have this hot air function and that would make perect naans :@: … but now in this home , the oven doesnt have grill or hot air and the naans come out like poppadoms :smack:

Re: Oven ..

"hot air" is most likely the fan (i think) and not the coils that bake. The coils cook above and below. The hot air can be used to warm up food or use it if you're making something that you think might burn more easily.
