In the ongoing NCAA tournament a kid from U Louisville(?) Got severely injured. Topic came io that legally his college doesn't even have to take care of his medical costs next year. ( due to publicity and the fact he can come back they probably will pay). And he gets no payment as compensation.
In 2009 a U Oklahoma (?) Player was severely injured. His family still paying medical costs.
The NCAA MAKES billions of dollars - $700m per year in TV contract alone. Each player worth $1M on average ( theoretically in free market). Elites worth north of $1.5m per year. This is after scholarship. But what do they get. Just scholarship - not renewable if injured! While coaches rake in millions. Universities rake in millions. All in the guise of the ideal of a student athlete.

Was watching Bill Maher show. Guest Saru Jayaram stated the min wage for restaurant servers in most States has been frozen at $2.50. Those working graveyard shift in diners probably don't make much in tips. Their paycheck automatically deducts min wage as tax. So they live on tips. Herman Cain was major proponent. Nat Restaurant Association very influential.
Most servers are ladies with kids. No paid sick days. Have to go on food stamps.
Gotta protect corporate profits.
