Outfit help for Brother's wedding!

Hi girls,

My brothers is coming up later this year and I’ce currently travelled to Lahore with my mum to do some wedding shopping.

I’m really stuck as what to get to wear myself on the mendhi, wedding and walima. I want something stunning and aren’t too fussed about the cost. Any suggestions about where to look or what to go for? I haven’t been keeping up-to-date with the latest catwalk looks.

Btw, I’m curvey and large backside so an anarkali just doesn’t look right but at the sametime I don’t wnat to be wearing straight shirts on each occasions. I’m after something elegant and not something full of gold dabkha kaam, which is what I’m seeing most of the shops in Liberty.

Yout thoughts and suggetions will be most appreciated.

Re: Outfit help for Brother's wedding!

All I think about these days is what to wear for my brother's wedding coming up, and even tho my outfits are mostly planned, I still can't stop thinking about it :D.

Mehndi: This is where I am most torn. I could wear my own mehndi suit (chunnri sharara in yellow) or a heavy bari suit (ferozi angharka with a churidaar), but if I was going to have something new made, I would make a peshwaaz/anarkali. Since you don't seem to like those, would you consider an A-line shirt with a churidaar or wide leg pant? Will you be dancing? I have danced in a gharara before and may need to dance in a sharara for my brother's wedding, but it's defintely not as easy as a churidaar.

Shadi: I'm wearing my own wedding gharara. I think a gharara or sharara would be lovely for the wedding day.

Valima: I am also wearing a gharara on this day -- a new one. But you should also consider a sari, which is a classic and very elegant outfit for a valima. Or go with a long shirt with pants or churidaar. Or a maxi even.

Inspirion, I'm pear-shaped :(

Sahar02 - your outfits sound lovely. I've never worn a sharara and am considering getting one made for the wedding. Will is suit a pear-shaped girl and if so, any reccommendations on the kaam/style/colour.

I went to Chinyere and Karma today but didn't find anything I liked. Hoping to visit the boutiques on MM Alam Rd tomorrow.
