Outfit for Nikah at the Mosque!

So it’s been settled that our nikah will be held at the mosque with around 30-40 guests, mostly close friends and family. I was originally going to get a cream/ivory colored kameez with very simple light gold kaam done, but now i’m worried that i won’t be able to pull it off.. I always avoid lighter colors, because they just don’t flatter my complexion at all. Are there any other color combos that would work for this occasion? What do you guys think??

Re: Outfit for Nikah at the Mosque!

I think any color would work. It is your nikkah. Just because it is at a mosque, you don't have to be super-simple or whatever. Anything that you feel looks pretty and flattering is fine.

All the nikahs I have seen, the bride has worn white/ivory. Any complexion can pull it off, but if you want to be different, you could opt for a different color. I still think that pastels/light colors are appropriate. But at the end of the day, you're the bride. You can make the rules.

My nikkah was at the masjid, I wore a blue lehnga, very light with little golden kaam. To be honest, I felt weird just because it felt like it was too much, but it was fine overall. Why do people wear white?

Re: Outfit for Nikah at the Mosque!

A lot of people wear white but the nice thing is, there are no rules! I remember one nikah I went to, the bride wore dark pink. My sister wore candy pink. My other sister wore red. My good friend wore blue. Its a matter of preference.

You can literally wear any color you want to wear...congratulations!
