outcasting

Hey all,

I recently visited pakistan for the first time. I was slightly shocked to the attitude some ppl have towards British shoppers. I’m from an area near Mirpur in pakistan. However, we travelled quite a bit whilst we were there. Us three sisters shopped till we dropped. But what I found was that we were being given rices a lot higher than any other shopper. We went to a shop in Jhelum which had beautiful clothes. A group of ladies were sitting there looking at clothes they pointed at one suit and askd the price the shop assistant said 1500 my sister turnd and askd after a few minutes for the same suit and he said 2500 i was shocked we walkd straight out…How rude

has anyone else had this happen to them

Re: outcasting

Looks like this thread will go to Bazaar :hmmm:

Re: outcasting

but Crown - may the shopkeeper thought you were rude for asking the price again when he knew you or your sis had already heard the price once when he said it.

Just kidding. It happens and the way to think about it is - let them make some extra bucks, poor chaps. I amsure you will have to pay triple to get the same stuff if you buy it in the UK or US

Re: outcasting

[note]Thread being shifted to Bazar Section where it really belongs..[/note]

Re: outcasting

No we weren't being rude...he didnt have a clue that we heard his worker quote the price to the other customer....

I know in business you have to make a profit but i found it disgusting that they think robbing someone like that is fine. Yes we pay near enough double in the UK but take it into consideration when shopping in Pak we buy more than 5-6 suits from one shop so thy can make a profit without lying about the price

Re: outcasting

:bummer: me me, same problem all the time :frowning:

Re: outcasting

Re: outcasting
