i was just wondering if anywhere in Islam there is a physical description of Isa (A)? I know there are obviously know images, i’m just curious in the history
or of any of the other prophets?
i think it was Nuh (A) that was really tall? or was that Adam (A)
i know that Yusuf (A) was supposed to have like 1/2 the worlds beauty?
and Rasulullah (S) i know there are some descriptions of him as well
actually you know what would be cool? what about stories of the not so famous prophets? Everyone (ok a lot of people) know the stories about Daud (A), Suleiman (A), Yunus (A), Yaqoub (A), etc…like there are what…25? mentioned by name in the Quran? Do we know the stories behind Ilyas (A) or Saleh (A) or or Shuaib (A) Dhul-Kifl (A) (i’m ashamed to admit that i don’t even recall that last name ) etc
also, how do we know these stories that aren’t extensively mentioned in the Quran? Are they from hadith? Like how do we know that Yusuf’s (A) brother was named Ben’yamin? B/c if they are just history, isn’t it possible that some of these stories have been butchered?

From what I remember from the Ahadith of the Holy Prophet :saw:, (Taken from the Isra’a and Miraaj), is that he was tall, thin and had ‘hair as if water would drip from them’…
No…Hz. Musa (Moses) :as: used to stutter and couldn’t talk…Hz. Ayub (Job) :as: had sores and worms all over his body…Hz. Yaqub (Jacob) :as: went blind in his later years…
No, they were not perfect in their appearance…Just their character and virtues…

714, according to Isa.53v2-3 Jesus was not attractive. The Bible doesn’t really describe Jesus except John who describes how he will look in Revelation. I don’t think it really matter. Jesus most probably was sallow/dark-brown as Jews/Arabs.
i think some people might be misunderstanding the intention of this thread…obviously it doesnt matter one way or the other how they looked in regards to their character or behavior…i was just curious as far as Islamic history was concerned…and if I remember correctly prophets were sent from all different socio-economic, geographic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds…obviously, these people were amongst the best Allah :swt: people, i just wanted to know about them in general…not just their physical appearance, but as i said what about the stories of soem of the lesser known prophets? And are these stories that are not in the Quran mentioned in Hadith…and the ones that aren’t from either, how do we know if they are authentic?
my question’s beginnings were inspired by my thinking of the general Christian depiction of Christ…i was just wondering if there was any mention in Islam of Isa (A) appearance, since actual images to see are forbidden

Lajjo Bhai…oh yeah, i’d forgotten about Prophet Musa (A)…didn’t know about Prophet Ayub (A) …also didn’t Prophet Yaqoub go blind after losing his son (Yusuf (A)) and wasn’t his eyesight restored after being with hazrat Yusuf (A) again? correct me if i’m wrong, it’s been a long time since i’ve heard these stories
See how do we know these things? Are they in the Quran, the Hadith, ??? I mean i know some of them are obviously in the Quran…there are surah’s about some of the specific prophets, but what about the other ones?

Old man, no no i didn't mean to imply that you weren't welcome here...you are more than welcome to share here with the rest of us...and its actually b/c it is christmas time and i was born and raised in the US so obviously there are christian religious figures everywhere...and since there are quite a few similarities between the two religions, at least as far the old testament is concerned i was curious to know what Islam said about the prophets :)
There are some areas in the world ( i will not mention specifically) but they claim to have pictures of prophet Mohammad S.A. They have whole history how they claim it to be accurate. Although most muslim do not accept their claims
