Rascism isn’t just between black or white, or a few westerners who hate foreigners living and being born in their countries, it’s even between several groups of foreigners in western countries. You’d think that people from Turkey and Pakistan for example, would either befriend each other or leave each other alone, especially when they are both in a similar situation: their parents who came to begin a new life in the west, their children being born in those western countries making them both western and Pakistani or both western and Turkish. Yet, even some Turkish people dislike Pakistani people and probably there are Pakistani people who dislike Turkish people. This goes for different races (people from Maroc, Africa, Surinam, etc.), not just these two.
I see so much rascism and discrimination on different levels, even between people you’d never expect this kind of behaviour. I know it’s natural to think something unknown is weird or perhaps scary, but that doesn’t justify rascism and discrimination.
It’s sad. Fortunately I have a few friends from Turkey, Maroc, Surinam, France, etc. who all show me it still is possible to be on the same earth without fights and hatred. They all save me from becoming a pessimist about the state of the world.
