Re: Our society

Haven't read the whole thread but we had a similar thread a couple of weeks ago.

I can't fathom disowning for the sake of religion. I can, however, imagine myself disowning my kids for other reasons. Still, it wouldn't be easy.

Re: Our society

I disagree with it, but there are many authentic Hadiths in Sahih Al-Bukhari which claim that those who leave Islam should get the death penalty.

If any Muslim does leave Islam they must be very secretive about it, especially if you're living in the Middle East. It is highly likely that you will be disowned or receive worse treatment. Just search around the Internet on Ex-Muslim sites and you'll know what I mean.

Everyone should have the right to choose what religion they follow, but unfortunately the many parents want kids to follow their own religion rather than allowing them to choose.

I also HATE the concept of "Izzat".. some parents will say, oh my izzat will go away because you are no longer Muslim, etc. Concept of Izzat is so stupid. Who agrees? It's a selfish and backwards thing for parents to think about.
